Why would they not have a hope ?? Who have Ratoath beaten of note since becoming senior ?? I dont think beating a Dunboyne side already through counts to be hones. 2 sides with little form over past 2 seasons but whoever wins here will get a great boost Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1338 - 20/09/2017 21:49:04 2048801 Link 11 |
In fairness Lurch you havent been the best at the old predictions yourself this year. It was only last week you were tipping the Bracks to get to the IFC decider.

"2 sides with little form" How do you figure that out? This year, Wolfe Tones finished top of Division 1 in the league, and only lost 1 of 5 championship matches. Their record this year between league and championship is played 18 Won 13 drew 1 lost 4. Only 2 senior teams have won more games this year. One is the county champions Simonstown. The other is .......wait for it.............Ratoath. Ratoaths record this year is played 18 Won 16 Lost 2, although they were playing in Division 2. As it happens, I dont think wither will go on to win it out, but to dismiss eithers form is just wrong. Along with Simonstown and Summerhill, Ratoath and Wolfe Tones are the form teams in Meath this year. anfearbeag (Meath) - Posts: 1134 - 21/09/2017 13:12:26 2048990 Link 12 |

Championship form my friend, Simonstown were almost relegated in League last year but won Championship. Tones were poor in championship last year as were Ratoath. Ratoath are in div 2 of league. Moynalvey and Kells just about avoided relegation in league this year but will take beating in championship. Although both sides lost only once this chsmpionship Ratoath beat 4 of the poorer sides in Senior and Tones beat another 2 of these in Duleek and Rathkenny. Both sides had notable wins last time out but neither opposition had anything to play for. That is my point. Intriguing match ahead and the winner will give a stern test to the winner of Dunboyne and Simonstown

i may eat humble pie, well done tones but one must ask how a club team with 7 senior county players be beaten by a team with none. thelutch (Meath) - Posts: 856 - 22/09/2017 21:56:56 2049448 Link 0 |

You are back-pedalling there Analyst. You're point now seems to be that form is irrelevant when it comes to the knock-out stages. I agree with that completely - Simonstown last year proved that, as have plenty others in the past. But thats not what you said earlier, regardless of how you like to spin it. You reckoned that neither team had any form for the past 2 years. Ratoath have won all 5 of their championship games so far this year. They beat every team put in front of them- what more form do you want? But you knock them because they didn't perform well last year? What has last years championship got to do with anything? These 2 teams are two of the form teams in Meath this year. Will that be enough to win it out? Who knows? You could make a case for any one of the nine teams left in it. anfearbeag (Meath) - Posts: 1134 - 22/09/2017 22:20:05 2049461 Link 10 |
How could you be so confident to predict they had no chance!! Anyone could see that would be a tight game and anyway the tones had o reilly on the meath team who looked better than any of the ratoath forwards when brought on this year. The 7 meath panellists mean nothing are the wallaces any better than the 2 o reillys? Bobby o Brien, cian o Brien and Mcmahon any better than the 2 wards and o fionnagain? Tones are a solid team but ratoath will be back

It's called championship football, anything can happen on any given day. I couldn't make the game but I hear Tones experience counted for a lot, fair play to them it's a moral boosting win
