Pat Carolan's family from Newtwon are a clan steeped in the history of the club. Sadly pat, due to an accident early in life, was unable to play. However it did not stop him from supporting his beloved Syddan with a passion and he became extremely vocal on match days and on all things football. hi sons all lined out for the club and Gry won an intermediate championship medal in 1999. Pat possessed a huge knowledge of GAA affairs and one rarely got the better of him inan argument on this subject.
