Replying To kildare blue:  "Next Sunday is a major test for the team. They have to learn the lessons of the League final and bring something different, either tactical and or personnel wise, to the table. Can TH turn the tables on MH? it's possible but no more than that.

Best of luck boys!"
Exactly. Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results is a sign of madness. Time Terry was learning.
Come on Cavan. Be up for it and straight into it too.
Expecting a victory on Sunday.

It's time to start performing now and take a big scalp.. Something we haven't done since Terry became manager. Let's take a leaf out of Tipperarys book , their underage success coming to the fore now and fair play to them. As Cavan Slasher says we can't keep making the same mistakes against teams like Tyrone over and over again. Hopefully it's 3rd time lucky against them. With progress from our last 2 games needed if we are to have one over on Tyrone. Time to stand up now and perform. No more mr nearly men

You are right we cant go out with same old attitude and expect different result. Victory against Tyrone can be ours but it requires progressive team selection creative tactics and a final move away for TH on his reliance and loyalty to a few favourites. This is his chance now to make it big , to make the breakthrough, I have always believed favouritism was his downfall blindin him to decisions needin to b made durin games. If TH gets it right on Sunday we could see a long summer and he will finally b properly rewarded for his dedication. The ball is very much in his own court.

Also expecting a win on Sunday! Terry needs to change the tactics up a bit, no point playing Tyrone up the middle because they will suck u up and spit u out. It is essential we have our big men on the wings as the likes of GMcK will take two men at times if hes on form! This will draw the tryone men out creating space in the centre for likes of McVeety running through. If we want to win this game we need to exploit their back line and get into the scoring zone instead of being forced to take long range points. Game will be won in the half backline and half forwardline. We also need to press up on their kickouts and force them long. Quick ball is key.`

That's 4 Ultimatums now in a row for Terry... We're playing the 3rd/4th best team in the country, and we feel we are in with a chance. We have emerged from the shadows and the team is one to be proud of. Enjoy it lads and don't let your obsessions with Terry take the shine off the day, these days are what being a GAA fan are all about!

Jon smith there's no obsession with Terry.. I'm sure he would even be first to admit that he'd like to take a big scalp during his tenure . That hasn't happened so far .. Maybe Sunday is the day. Hopefully.. It is really time for this team to deliver.

According to the good folk posting on Hoganstand it was also time to deliver last year against Monaghan, it was time to deliver against Galway in the promotion game, it was time to deliver in Croke Park against Tyrone etc etc.. Have you ever gone to watch a Cavan game thinking that today wouldn't be a good day to deliver?!

It's also funny that after we lost to Tyrone in the League Final you said That's why we are so limited and predictable in what we do. And when the opposition target and snuff out our main threats we can't adjust. Its the reason why Armagh though not a better team than us will beat us in Ulster. McGeeney will like Harte have his homework done on certain players.

Yet when we beat Armagh you didn't post, didn't praise Terry for getting the tactics right and winning the game comfortably. But you're on here now declaring that it's time for Terry to deliver... Even though you didn't think we would beat Armagh?

Like I said... Obsession...

I never said we wouldn't beat Armagh. What I said was if McGeeney snuffs out our main threats like harte did well we would need a plan B. But thankfully it turned out that Armagh were worse than could be imagined before hand . My point now is an ageing Tyrone team who are in the process of rebuilding for the 3rd time since 2003 should be there for the taking if we have learned anything from the previous 2 games against them. Yes it is time for Terry to finaly take a big scalp. A top 6/7 team. God knows he's been in and around the Team for long enough now. If you listen to his post match comments on most games he talks about a learning curve and gaining experience and so on.. So let's see now what he's learned on Sunday. It is time to deliver. If not I'd expect a management change at the end of the year as Terry and co will have taken us as far as he can. And we are grateful for that . But like all aspiring teams we need to push on to the next level. And if Terry and co can bring us to the next level all the better. If not it's time for change.. Let's see what Sunday brings

Its a huge game on Sunday! Cavan will certainly have learned a lot from both league defeat, which they deserved more from, and more so the league final. I'm confident that they will give everything on Sunday. Tyrone have earned the right to be favourites, and that suits Breffini Blue well. I feel confident that Cavan will run, attack and establish themselves on Tyrone with strength and courage. Cavan dominated the Armagh game from early, and scored the most in Championship since 1968 in 2-16. Midfield and physically is somewhere we can dominate Tyrone.
One has to laugh and point a finger of complaint at the national media's focus on Joe Brolly's attack on Geezer, instead of Cavan's performance. To see even Ciaran Murphy of 2nd Captains describe Armagh game as terrible and bad in defending Joe's mouthy comments, made me laugh. I for one enjoyed the game, and as someone who knows his football, I expected better:) This suits Cavan perfect of course, and best to go in low under the radar. Its very sad that the national media has yet again this week in the country's major papers to interview Dublin's Johnny Cooper(yet again) and Gary Maguire instead of a focus on the Ulster Semi. Dublin aren't even playing football, or hurling this week, but the media follow like sheep in Indo n Times yesterday. Wish the media would wake up:) Players deserve more! Good luck to Breffin! Lets change History! Its our time.....

That says it all. despite Terry's achievements in managing Cavan U21, Junior and Senior teams and showing demonstrable progress with the Seniors this year you still have the temerity to say he isn't a proper manager. I am grateful that we have a manager and a squad of players who display the qualities of humility, patience, understanding and positivity and I am proud of what TH and the players are achieving and will still feel like that even if we lose on Sunday.

Just enjoy the build up and the game. It would be a real shame to let your fascination with Terry overshadow what will be a great occasion.

All great men have their detractors I suppose.

You would expect that both managements will have learnt from the league and the league final and off course Tyrone will have viewed a full video of the Armagh game. M.Hate is a very clever controlled manager been around a long time and won everything so it will be a hard task to beat them but playing with your best fifteen there is a chance of beating Tyrone and one has to hold onto that thought for Sunday.

Teams look at videos of the opposition all the time Sean.
That's why you need to have several ways of playing.
Plan B is so important.
Let's hope Terry has one this time.

Never doubted it for a moment Cavan_Slasher. It's the ability to make the necessary adjustments and also substitutions that can win or losing a game ???

I think the most important thing is having a plan B when things are not clearly working. That's been our difficulty under this present management. We tend to just focus on our own game instead of key players on the opposition. Against Tyrone in the league final Peter Harte was left unmarked to roam the pitch. If this happens again it will be the same result. If Rory Dunne goes full back and Cavanagh draws him out well there only one winner there. The key to Beating Tyrone is to push up on their kick outs even if it means going man to man for the kickouts. Not giving them a chance to build from the back. That's their strength. They are masters at coming forward from building at the back.

Plan B needs to factor in mobility in the forwards and around the middle. That is vital against Tyrone's counter attack.
Starting Corr, McKiernan, Givney, Johnston, Argue together- is there enough capacity to cover ground with this combination? I doubt it. McVeety and Mackey will be busy covering off!
If TH goes with all these lads then it has to be long ball all day as they would be swarmed out of it otherwise, The danger with that plan is a high turnover rate which allows Tyrone to break from the back. I would hold Argue and Corr from the start, KClarke in the middle, go with Keating in at full forward. Mackey doesn't start for me either, he coughs up too much ball. Killian Brady at half forward to push up on Harte. Squeeze the kickouts and, vitally, kick the ball dead every time. 12+ wides against Tyrone is not a crime, kicking the ball into the keepers hands definitely is.
