It's no wonder we are where we are when the county board ratified this man as the new U21 manager when he was instrumental along with Carr in bringing Cavan seniors back 15 years. The mind boggles to say the very least. mowbar (Cavan) - Posts: 452 - 05/11/2015 10:27:13 1804571 Link 0 |
Mowbar. You know what they are like. We have a manager at Senior level who also was involved with Carr years back . He will probably be involved with the next manager in some capacity too. Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 05/11/2015 10:56:34 1804580 Link 0 |
Yes you are probably right. What chance is there for our future when you have situations like this being allowed to arise year on year. It's time the club's who in fairness are the unit's that keep the county board ticking. mowbar (Cavan) - Posts: 452 - 05/11/2015 11:09:21 1804584 Link 0 |
Was there anyone else looking for the job? Skelling (USA) - Posts: 288 - 05/11/2015 11:24:07 1804591 Link 0 |
He got the job the day after his club scored 5 points in an Ulster club match and 3 of them were from frees. Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 05/11/2015 11:32:59 1804594 Link 0 |

the mind boggles it has to be said. Cavan teams have struggled badly over the years but the two worst days in recent times came from kingscourt on Sunday and Mullhorhan in 2012. Both looked tactically clueless. You have to wonder. However it must be said he did win championships with extremely average sides. Kingscourt are very very average bordering on Poor so he deserves credit for that. I don't think any manager could have steered them to victory on Sunday. asdfg (Cavan) - Posts: 290 - 05/11/2015 13:50:33 1804656 Link 0 |
Good luck to him. I'm sure he would never be as good a manager as Mowbar but no one can be that perfect. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 05/11/2015 14:42:37 1804683 Link 0 |

Mowbar, I think you are being very selfish depriving Cavan of your football knowledge. Maybe you are waiting for the Cork job or maybe there is just too much grass to cut but maybe you could rethink? Anyway the man has the job now so best of luck to him. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 05/11/2015 18:48:09 1804782 Link 0 |
Many Thanks to Peter Reilly for his time in the job rahanman (Cavan) - Posts: 127 - 05/11/2015 19:41:13 1804797 Link 0 |
Best of luck to the man, but his reign could be a short one if the U21 is scrapped. Ned_Stormcrow (Cavan) - Posts: 1022 - 06/11/2015 13:58:25 1804954 Link 0 |
No need in scraping the U21 competition, it's finished by May. Senior County team should be made play without U21 players in that period. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2216 - 06/11/2015 14:18:23 1804960 Link 0 |

Only candidate. People giving out name one other one. As for Kingscourt being hammered. Can't blame a lack of challenge in Cavan as some are. They lost twice and only won final by point. Kilcoo are a serious outfit at their peak while Kingscourt have a lot of lads wrong side of 30 and squeezed a championship out plus had a lot of football in legs. doratheexplorer (Cavan) - Posts: 1467 - 09/11/2015 12:12:22 1805548 Link 0 |
Some people on this make me laugh, mowbar its you I'm talking about. Yes Niall lynch was involved with Tommy Carr but you seem to forget so was Peter Reilly and he didn't do bad as u21 boss. He's won all Ireland's at schools level & championship at senior level he deserves a shot. Best of luck to Niall and his selectors Breffni81 (Cavan) - Posts: 175 - 09/11/2015 13:27:24 1805596 Link 0 |
