Can't really blame Barry Reilly. I feel he got a raw deal last year. Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 05/11/2015 10:04:09 1804562 Link 0 |

Delighted that Flannigan and McKeever have done the honorable thing and stood down I wish a few more would do the same starting with Mackey, Keating will not be back with hyland not sure about givney either. The amount on the panel that think they are the greatest we Cavan ever had the privilege to watch are in cookoo land. mowbar (Cavan) - Posts: 452 - 05/11/2015 10:23:11 1804569 Link 0 |
Last year was a farce. The goal keeping saga was the worst. Mossy Corr was told in Jan he was surplus to requirements & he put his head down trained hard & was prob best player last year. Barry reilly is a gem not a robust machine, simply a player of slight stature who uses his feet & vision if you can t incorporate that into a game plan. You ve no knowledge... Seldom have I read a bunch of more stupid posts in a row before. You have outdone yourselves lads. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 05/11/2015 12:05:39 1804604 Link 0 |
FredFlint, are you really that surprised? cavan97 (Cavan) - Posts: 369 - 05/11/2015 12:30:27 1804609 Link 0 |
Fredflint where's your contribution? Maybe because your pro Hyland you have no contribution to make . Roll on 2017 Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 05/11/2015 12:47:31 1804623 Link 0 |
It's a disgrace to say players have done the honourable thing retiring and others should follow. That's nothing to do with manager. These lads have sacrificed over ten years of their lives and made personal sacrifices. doratheexplorer (Cavan) - Posts: 1467 - 05/11/2015 13:12:04 1804637 Link 0 |
In fairness Mowbar has pretty much left me speechless with his last post. It epitomises this forum. Tom Smith and Gaelstud who are clearly WUMs have their contributions posted regardless of what it might be. Skelling (USA) - Posts: 288 - 05/11/2015 13:35:15 1804647 Link 0 |
Skelling the stats are that there are more players leaving the panel than joining it. Now that's a worrying stat whether your pro or anti Hyland Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 05/11/2015 13:41:19 1804648 Link 0 |

Players leaving county panels is not a new phenomenon nor is it the sole preserve of Cavan football,it happens every year in most counties.I say most counties as of course within a successful county there'd be a lesser rate of attrition although even in these counties lads have being known to take time out in the early cup competitions and league games. aceofspades (Cavan) - Posts: 228 - 05/11/2015 15:53:52 1804711 Link 0 |
Ahhnow sums up his bitterness with that,"roll on next year" comment. So pathetically obsessed with proving that he's right he wishes for a bad year for his own county. sceptical (Cavan) - Posts: 542 - 05/11/2015 16:04:57 1804714 Link 0 |
Look its a thankless job made worse when some are treated badly some players go out in a blaze of publicity and bitterness others just leave quitely without a fuss and either come back when management change or pursue some other sport or hobbie there were some crazy decisions made come championship this year what the reasoning or agenda behind it who know in my humble opinion it caused untold havoc in the dressing room sometimes that cant be won back either way a new season is about to start i await with interest the panel my heart would love to stay in div 2 my head well i cant see it maybe i will be proved wrong am not going to bad mouth any player they give up their time a lot of it best of luck to the lads who have left and to the lads who stayed and to the new faces work hard and make it happen asitis (Cavan) - Posts: 233 - 05/11/2015 17:59:44 1804755 Link 0 |

According to the Celt, Martin Dunne and Damian O'Reilly have opted out for 2016 in addition to Ronan Flanagan. Ned_Stormcrow (Cavan) - Posts: 1022 - 12/12/2015 19:15:39 1812780 Link 0 |
Flanagan a loss for his experience. . Dunne lacks strength for Inter County. Damien Reilly a decent player, but there is about 10 players similiar to him. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2216 - 12/12/2015 20:05:02 1812788 Link 0 |
Foolsgold if your not busy maybe you would name that 10?? As for Dunne he's a scoring forward that's light and needs it on a plate but in his defence he like Johnston knows what to do with it when he gets it. Biggest problem is lack of players around to give it to him. Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 13/12/2015 10:25:21 1812812 Link 0 |
