The way i see it the Gaels dont become a bad team overnight- they had a couple of impressive wins leading up to last weekends game and in fairness the result could have been much different only Gavin Sheenan with a few top class saves in the second quarter kept Kingscourt ahead. If one or two goals had to go in at that stage the momentum could easily have swung in the Gaels direction. There has only been a kick of a ball between these sides in the last five or six years including last years final. However i dont think the managerial merry-go-round has done the Gaels any favours of late plus i believe they have so many players of the same standard they have no idea what their best team is which doesnt help. Best of luck to all remaining four teams - its hard to predict a winner and that can only be a good thing. tenyearplan (Cavan) - Posts: 130 - 22/09/2015 21:24:26 1791070 Link 0 |
cavan gaels are not near the team they were , they have lost too many of their big name players over the last few years and have come back into the pack . Killygarry look decent but they are lacking experience . Any word on referees for these games ? Cavanbyrd (Cavan) - Posts: 61 - 23/09/2015 10:49:37 1791173 Link 0 |
Referee for Killygarry Castlerahan is Oliver Og and Brendan Sweeney is doing the Killygarry Kingscourt game Cavan_Ned (Cavan) - Posts: 85 - 23/09/2015 11:04:07 1791187 Link 0 |

3 clubs from the one parish in the 3 club finals would be amazing. I assume that would never have happened before? fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 26/09/2015 19:15:19 1792637 Link 0 |
Well I got the senior match wrong. I only found out yesterday evening that that Darragh Tighe was not playing for Killyshandra what a loss and to to only loose by 4 points was I would say because of his absents. I know many will say Castlerahan missed loads of goals but thats just an assumption. Best of luck to Castlerahan now but on last nights performance you will will not lift the senior title. So lots of room for improvement. Congratulations however on getting to the final commiserations Killyshandra you put in a great year. I highly doubt Darragh Tighe would have made much of a difference yesterday. Castlerahan controlled this game from start to finish and in all honestly should have won by 10+ points. IamADragon (Cavan) - Posts: 269 - 27/09/2015 12:07:48 1792685 Link 0 |
Sean that's an assumption? What? Castlerahan missed at least 6 goal chances. Miles the better team. Killeshandra have a class act in goals. doratheexplorer (Cavan) - Posts: 1467 - 27/09/2015 14:02:07 1792715 Link 0 |
Regardless of what you think my opinion will not change Darragh was a huge loss to Killyshandra such a playmaker and the second most important player in the spine. This is my opinio and I am sticking with it. Sean The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4565 - 27/09/2015 19:36:31 1792790 Link 0 |
It was always going to be Castlerahan Kingscourt in the final although Killeshandra and Killygarry both gave a good account of themselves. It will be an interesting Final with both teams capable of winning. Kingscourt probably have the greater experience even though Joe Dillon will be a loss. Keith Mc Cabe is playing great football and I think Kingscourt probably have more leaders on the field. Looking forward to a good match. marita (None) - Posts: 464 - 28/09/2015 10:53:00 1792953 Link 0 |
I'd make Kingscourt slight favourites. Being in this position more often and have a lot of football under their belts. Castlerahan are capable of winning though. doratheexplorer (Cavan) - Posts: 1467 - 28/09/2015 16:46:13 1793235 Link 0 |
Folks, a final to look forward to, there should be a great crowd to see how this one pans out. Lets hope the weather is kind on the day. kildare blue (Cavan) - Posts: 572 - 28/09/2015 19:16:08 1793290 Link 0 |
marita your a bit biased are you from kingscourt?? clonroan (Cavan) - Posts: 2 - 28/09/2015 20:15:11 1793312 Link 0 |
Clonroam I'm not from Kingscourt. I'm just giving my opinion having seen most of the championship games. I would actually like to see Castlerahan win out this year as they have a few players who have contributed a lot to Cavan football and it would be nice to see them win a senior championship. I would like whoever wins the Cavan title to go on and make an impact on Ulster. marita (None) - Posts: 464 - 29/09/2015 08:41:32 1793369 Link 0 |
