I don't see why you would be content. You blew a tremendous chance to win both Ulster and to make an all Ireland final.

Dermot McCabe in backroom will be great addition. He done a fantastic job when involved with the minors few years ago. Really pulled them together as a team and I'm sure all players will look forward and want to work under him...Really known as a guy that will bring people in from the cold and gel a team with positivity. Best of luck to all

I feel that post is unwarranted many in Cavan would have been very happy to get to the simi final stage and sadly it will be a long time before we see the day ourselves.

At least we are back to a position of certainty again. I thought it would be better for us if Micky got the Longford job and came back to us in a few years with hopefully some good experience, but we have him now. He was a very committed and exciting player so I have no doubts about his enthusiasm for this job.

I'm not so sure as to how McCabe will work out. He always struck me as very dogmatic and negative. I felt he dominated the minor manager when he was in that setup so I hope Mickey will be able to manage him.

Good to see Corey involved, that's a positive. I'd have gone for O'Rourke on the basis of his inter county experience and the quality of his backroom team. I suppose their cost was a factor against them in fairness to the CB. Also very relieved it wasn't McDermot, can't understand how he made the final three.

So welcome aboard Mickey. Let's get the wagon back on the rails and start moving forward again. It's good timing with plenty of club games ahead so well done CB on making the appointment reasonably early this time.

Talking to a chap for the last hour he tells me that Micky is not the full manager that it's a joint manager appointment is this correct does anyone know.

I remember mccabe being very domineering and critical when on the pitch so I hope he has come down a little bit from there to know how to be a cooperating team player in a group situation. He wasn't always a team amn as far as I could see anyway. But we should assume he was chosen by Graham and not handed to him, right, so it should be OK?

Every manager appointment is an roll of a dice. Graham is as worth a shot as any of the other men that were genuinely available for the job, I mean not the pie in the sky candidate's. There'll be ogeous talking done here until the league starts but we can't know anything until the lads step on6yhe pitch. Until then we just have to wait.

I'd like to wish Mickey graham the very best of luck, he is a good lad and I hope he can bring back some players from exile, with the back room team Aidan O'Rourke had I was hoping he would get the job, Mickey needs a strong back room team and he needs to get all the best players in the county playing.

Okay the person I was speaking too was his aunts husband so I was just wondering. I wish Micky the best but I feel his biggest problem will not be getting players in.

Probably like a lot of supporters, I'm a bit underwhelmed with the proposed new management team. Anyway I was very enthusiastic about the last man so it shows how little opinions on here a worth! We will wish him well and get behind the team again.
Mickey did pretty well with Mullinalaghta, though how much of that was down to the McGinvey brothers can be questioned. One of his challenges obviously will be to smooth out the undercurrent of tensions between club factions and get all players in the county putting their hand up to play. Despite that I wouldn't see that many new or returning faces on the 2019 panel- maybe 3 or 4 players that can make a difference could return. The notion of a huge bank of untapped talent is fanciful in my view.
So the main challenge then will be to mould what he already has into a competitive outfit. Physical power will be the key to staying in Div 1 and if that means peaking early for 2019 so be it. Tactically, there so much to work on that wasn't resolved by mcGleenan- a centre back, midfield partner for McKiernan, a plan for the inside forwards. Too early for all that.
The objectives for year 1 write themselves. Survive in Div 1 and get a first round win. Look no further than that. Achievable targets league will be to beat Roscommon (overdue), Monaghan at home and pick up a win or draw somewhere else. If we avoid Tyrone or Donegal in Ulster, all the rest we are plus or minus 2 points so its game on.

I think that's a fair post, surviving in did 1 has to be a priority, I do think we have a good spine there if played in proper position and given a run there in stead of chopping like Mattie, eg. k Clarke at 3
P falkner at 6.

McCabe losing the plot along the line like Anthony Forde won't be much good.
It will be interesting to see who else is part of the backroom team. A few players will probaly return like Gerry Smith, McDermott, Joe Dillon, maybe Keating.

Gerry Smith took the year out for it was an important year for him exams wise. Mattie did not remove him.
