Replying To The Quiet Man:  "A wind up but considering the selection committee I would not be a bit surprised. I doubt however M. Graham will play second fiddle to D. McCabe considering that he has won two senior titles as manager and the others have won nothing. So the fun is only starting."
Who is on the selection committee?

They have got their man it seems that an outside man is always followed by an inside man in Cavan

Replying To cavanblueman:  "Hate to break it lads...Mickey Graham is on his way to Longford, it's common knowledge within the Longford GAA circles.

A massive loss to Cavan in my opinion, if my sources are correct, Peter Reilly will be the next Cavan manager, he was actually on the interview panel when McGleenan was given the job.

If my sources are correct, then its a sad day for Cavan Football, it will set us back 20 years. Whilst he was a good footballer on the pitch, his behaviour is off the pitch is sometimes disgraceful, anyone that came up against him even when he managed Knockbrides underage teams will tell you that he has absolutely no manners, even with his own players.

Cavan need a manager with a cool head, someone who can keep their emotions under wraps in order to make the best decisions. Peter Reilly is no that."
New set of sources needed. Contgratulations to mickey graham lets hope the locals will get behind him & give him a fair crack at it.

any word on a back room team, i see poacher has removed his name from the down ticket. could he be coming to cavan?
look its not the big name we all wanted but this could work well. i'll admit yesterday i was a bit down hearted about the whole situation but perhaps this will prove to be a good move, micky has a track record no matter what you say. he's a local man that surely has the counties interests at heart and at the very least he'll get these Gaels lads in that a lot of people on here do be talking about.

He should have taken the Longford job. I doubt very much he will get the gales lads in when they would not play for him a few years back. Out from the ones that cannot commit there are not many if any left to be brought in.
He was in a great position having been a manager in Longford he would have got a chance to see all their senior players and I expect some intermediate games as well.
If it's him I wish him well off course but a big ask to stay in division one for starters.

Poacher was going to be with O Rourke. Dermot McCabe is with him and some are saying Martin Corey also.

I'd love to know who these Gaels players are that people talk about bringing into the panel?

If the above is true Cavan are heading so fast for division 2 it's unbelievable. McCabe on the cheap as he is a full time employee with Cavan. Neither of them have personality and they will not be constructive together. Sadly we the supporters are in for a bad 2019.
No matter what one can say about the last man is he left Cavan as he got them in Division 1.

Martin Dunne and Paul O'Connor would both be improvements on what's there, Dunne especially. He was excellent when on the panel before in a very defensively set up team. Never thought O'Connor got a fair shot and think he's worth another look. We don't have a target man and with Givney in London, I don't think Keating will commit.

Mickey Graham will know the club scene well, as will his backroom team, so I'd expect plenty of fresh faces. Don't think the quality is in the current panel to stay in Division 1.

What is Graham's track record?

Intrigued to know as to what inspiring appointment you would have made? Don't even attempt to mention the likes of Mcguinness and Horan.

Appointing a manager with no inter county experience. We won't be too worried across the border...

Mickey Harte (that guy who keeps beating you when it matters) didn't have any senior inter county experience.

It might just work out. Internal managers have worked better for us in recent years, Hyland and Keoghan have been the two best managers we have had in recent time. I would think Graham would have more of a football brain than both of the above. Not sure about McCabe to be honest, hopefully we get some big outside man for the backroom team too ie a poacher or a Tony McEntee. Big Emphasis on strength and conditioning for the winter, too often this summer we looked like a minor team especially against Donegal and Tyrone.

All the best to Mickey and his team. True supporters will get behind him and wish him well although I see the usual crew out with the knives already. Sorry lads mourinho wasn't available and Alex Ferguson won't come out of retirement. Glad to see a Cavan man back in charge too

Well you're blessed that side of the border to be fair.
You have a manager that has gotten the absolute maximum out of a team of journey men and a once in a lifetime forward who might prolong your inevitable nosedive to division 3 for another couple of years.

Best of luck to the new management team. Hopefully, they will move things forward.

Just shows that no big name wanted the job. Div 2 beckons ... as for us! We are content.

Sure you lads can't get a local either. Hopefully Corey does the business.
