Intermediate Championship.

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Going to be very interesting. Arva drumlane and Ballyhaise are obviously the frontrunners. Personally I reckon its between Arva and Ballyhaise. Ballyhaise are quite seasoned at this stage and thats why i would put them as slight favourites. The dark-horses are Bailieborough and Swad. Both going about there business very well this year. Shercocok and Belterbut in the chasing pack but dont expect either to win. Who do people fancy?

Arva are a tasty side. Can get a bit involved in the argy bargy at times, so Ballyhaise eventually to win it. I think they re club has caught on a bit good committee & no questioning the squad they have biggest in cavan probably..

No matey im going to go with Arva, Ballyhaise will be there too but can never finish it off. Shercock to be dark horses.
Redhills hardly going to win Intermediate when all they've won this year is 1 league game. Just saying they will beat Drung - Drung no good

if ballyhaise get over their phobia of actually winning a 1st team title instead of collecting another reserve tiyle, this year then I will do the 12 pubs at xmas in my superman briefs........

Think it's between arva and ballyhaise myself , they are the two best teams in the compotition. If neither of them win it can see it going out west swad, drumlane and belturbet all well capable of winning it with a bit of luck

Surely the bridge will have a say at the end ? Ballyhaise won't be able to deal with pressure come the end of the year I think , my predictions are as follows
1. Butlersbridge
2.Swad
3.redhills
4.arva
5.drumlane

Lad, of your ruling Ballyhaise out then how could you look to the Bridge ahead of Arva?? Drumlane are going well in 1B and completely under the radar also. Dark horses. Redhills? No a hope in hell!!!! They are freefalling!

LAughable everyone is ruling the best team in the competition out., Ballyhaise's league form this year proves all your Questions of pressure wrong, there also the only team not only competing in Division1 but holding there own beating strong Senior Teams,

Also why is everyone raving about Arva a young side yes,But only Killian Clarke got Black Card they where looking at the back door and a Fight to stay in the Competition!!!
I Agree Drumlane are totally under the radar, Lavey beat them in a Challenge game recently, Wouldnt expect them to win it but they'll be in the mix..Shercock Will come strong in the back door expect them to come through there.

But to the game at the weekend REdhills Vs Drung, Redhills have fallen so far a Field its a shame to see, a lot of over seas players that would make them contenders!, Drung are a very average side.

Ballyhaise always perform well in league but when it comes to crunch time they will crumble under the pressure like always ! Too many of their plays are hot and cold ... If they had the bottle of the likes of mullahoran they would be competing for senior championships but unfortunately that is not the case .... I wouldn't be surprised to see swad beating them this weekend ! Dr.phils I would fancy redhills to beat Ballyhaise when it really matters .

Its Ballyhaise to lose if you ask me. Swad also to be contendors. Followed by Arva & Shercock.
Ballyhaise missing a few players for the game the weekend so they could be looking at the back door.
Think i'll go with Ballyhaise to win it out tho.

Dara10 - Not sure what age you are (10) but if you had any experience of the intermediate championship over the last 10-15 years you will know the following.

1. Ballyhaise will not win it. End off.they
2. Drung always put it up to any team. League form or division is no indicator when it comes to Drung. Remember, they were the only team to put it up to Cootehill last year. only lost by a couple in the end and going by this year so far, their going to cause a few headaches for a few teams. Whoever beats them will go onto win it
3. Swad or Arva will probably win it. Both have some handy forwards and strong up the middle.Arva also know what it takes to win it.
4. Shercock too dependent on Killian Clarke.
5 The rest haven't a prayer.

No lad I know a lot about it.
Ballyhaise are doing well in Division 1 & holding their own, just saying on paper they should win it.
Shercock a good all round team even without Killian. He's going to America so we'll see how they cope without him.
Drung are useless and have bet 2 very poor teams. Wont get much further.
Your right, Swad & Arva too good teams. Good midfield and great forwards.

Ballyhaise blew Swad away, easy winners with 2men sent off . They'll take beating when Tierney is home.....the team to beat
