Still one more round in back door. Losers this weekend go in back door to play other four in back door. The winners this weekend go into quarter final. Kingscourt game is a backdoor game.

Play what other 4 in back door ?
It says on main page that drumalee, lavey, crosserlough, drumgoon & either kingscourt/cuchulainns will be going into the relegation draw.
this weekend; gaels v lacken, ramor v killygary, cootehill v killshandra, mullahorn v ballinagh & kingscourt v cuchulainns. 14 teams + castlerahan = 15 in total. 5 gone into relegation. 5 winners from this weekend + castlerahan = 6. Do those 6 go thru to 1/4 finals. And then say the 4 losers of gaels v lacken, ramor v killygary, cootehill v killshandra, mullahorn v ballinagh play each other to get the last 2 1/4 final places ?
Any one in the know care to clarify

Rd 3 will consist of 4 Losers of Rd 2A games which take place this weekend and 4 Winners of Rd 2B games which are Gowna, Denn, Castlerahan and Winner Kingscourt/ Cuchulainns. Drumgoon (Prelim Game C Loser), Drumalee, Crosserlough, Lavey and Loser Kingscourt/ Cuchulainns are in Relegation.
The 4 Winners of Rd 2A this weekend will go straight to Quarter Finals.

OK here goes.

In the losers side we have Gowna,C/Rhan, Denn & Kingscourt( Assume they will beat Cucu's)

Gaels play Lacken, Ramor play Killygarry, Cootehill play K/shandra & Ballinagh play Mullahoran this weekend. The winners of these 4 games go straight into the 1/4's while the losers will play the above 4 teams ( Gowna etc) that will then fill the other 4 teams for the quarters. All open draw so teams could meet again.

As far as I know the replay between Kingscourt and Cuchulainns will be this Tuesday and the postponed games will be either Friday or Saturday night.
I heard Killeshandra were fuming the game was off were as Cootehill were happy with it was. Was Cootehill missing any players does anyone know for the game that will be back this weekend or injuries, seems strange.

I just don't know where you got your information from ? no one complained about the matches being postponed. Remember there was to be an under 16 final played as well and everyone seemed to be very respectful of the decision to call off all the matches. There was a lot of water on the pitch and there was no sign of the rain stopping so the decision was a correct call and I suppose some will never be happy. Last night neither Cootehill or Killeshandra disagreed with the match being called off.

I am not sure that the Kingscourt replay is on Tuesday I think it's Wednesday night but that might change after the CCC meeting tonight we will all know then.

Very poor standard in cavan. No forwards nothing coming on. Monaghan to dominate our rivalry for next ten years.

Standard of football has been very poor, Ramor v Killygarry was an exception and one of the games of the championship so far, Killygarry very unlucky but look like a team for the future.

Unfortunately for everyone, the Gaels haven't had to get out of 1st gear yet, there's not a team in the County that will touch them - teams are going out trying to beat them physically and it doesn't work, you cant beat football the way the Gaels play it.

Well said Dean Martin yourself Mowbar and tomsmith are always willing to offer a helping hand in proving my point about how hopeless cavan football is in comparison to the juggernaut that is monaghan.

farneyforsam I wouldn't use the word juggernaut, but its clear that Monaghan Football is at the moment in a better position than Cavan Football. That comes down to two things a. Management & b. Monaghan have 2/3 better quality footballers.
There wasn't much between them in the Championship this year, Cavan led by 5pts at one stage and poor management decisions along with poor decisions on the field cost us dearly.
Had Cavan beaten Monaghan, I don't think they would have beaten Donegal.
In the last 4 years, Ulster Football, with the exception of Donegal & Monaghan had seen a decline, and Cavan had the opportunity to push on and build on the successes of the U21s, this didn't happen because of the current manager, and as we seen last weekend, Tyrone are on the way back, and even Derry, Down & Fermanagh have seen improvements this year, and I fear that Cavan will now have to rebuild again. They've given Hyland another year in charge and in my opinion, it's another year wasted, so rebuilding wont start until 2017.
Unfortunately, there are some people on this forum who seem to accept that promotion to Division 2 last year is a sign of success!!

Farneyforsam , you obviously weren't at the cavan monaghan minor game this year when cavan destroyed them , Cavan have beaten monaghan the last two years in the Gerry reilly cup and went on to win it and st.pats won the macrory cup this year so how can you come on here and say what you did ? if cavan can get the right structures in place at senior level then the future is Cavans !
