Poor display again when it really mattered.
I think it's time now for Terry to step aside.
Poor from team and manager.
No threat up front at all and even the defence was poor today.

S golderick an appeal? You for real? I'd appeal to RTE to stop showing our matches because we are an embarrassment to have on national TV. That's the only appeal we need.

Another season over,, seems if Cavan football took one step forward and about 6 steps backwards over the last few years. Credit to Roscommon on there victory they were the better team. Time now for a new approach, new Management team and try and get the players back that left, we also need to try and get more of the past under 21 players into the panel. I think the current set-up tried to stay to loyal to the lads they had when they were over the 21's. As for the new management team, we need to stay away from anyone's involved in the last few years with the u21 and senior set-up and go for a whole new fresh approach. and as a supporter id have to say thanks to Terry and his team for there time and effort over the last few years.

I hate to say that I told you so but to all those that had great expectations from this team you were sadly disillusioned for they are way of the mark when it comes to senior football. It's no wonder the County standard is as it is. I listen to gombines weekly saying our club level is in a great shape. It would be fair to say we are 10 years behind and will alway's be playing catch up.
Should hyland and all his backroom team now leave well I say will anyone touch this county job who would want it and to have it on their CV that they like many before them could get nothing out of them for they live in a fantasy world.
I think our major mistake was when we allowed player power which is laughable get rid of a gentleman who had medals in his back pocket been there done that to be shafted that person was Liam Austin. From that moment on Cavan rightly so went on a slippery slide and to be honest with you we are still on that slide.
I watched that match yesterday and there was not one intercounty player on the field for Cavan, Boy's against Men men with passion to win.
The best thing that could happen is for 98% of them to walk along with all the backroom staff the only person I would retain is O Martin the kit man.
Barry Reilly one of our prospects for the future showed his metal when he came on we need people like him not have him and others sitting on the bench.
Sorry rant over the better team won yesterday regardless playing with 14 or 15 men we were never going to beat Roscommon. By the way this was like I hear every year we should get to an Ulster final we are in the easier side of the draw here was a chance to get to the last 8 just look at whats in the draw tomorrow, teams in decline.
Congratulations to seanorinn for having the pitch once again in fantastic condition it was a credit to him, pity others don't show the passion that he does getting the pitch in such good condition for these big matches, he must be feeling very low this morning after seeing all his efforts wasted.

Would have to agree with Roscommon poster, our forward line would not strike fear into any back line.
We've spent four years "perfecting a defencive system" which failed miserably yesterday and as I've said before in other posts not a decent forward to show.
Niall Mc Dermots injury didn't help and when Mossy saw red I said my son " game over,we can go home now".
Stayed till the end all the same but you know what I mean.
I was hoping for some of our so called star players would step up to the plate but it never looked like happening.
Tired of listening to the " were a very young team", so are Roscommon.
Back to the drawing board big time.
QUESTION IS ? WHERE DOES CAVAN FOOTBALL GO FROM HERE?????

a county team at the level Cavan are at can not do without the likes of Rory Dunne, David Givney, Killian Clarke and Eugene Keating, we just do not have the quality to cope. We could have the best manager in Ireland and even with those four players fully fit and playing well we would be well off winning an All Ireland. Our U21 success, as it was, cos we must remember that despite winning 4 Ulster titles we did not manage to win an All Ireland at that level, actually gave us a false sense of where we are on the senior scene.

Club football in Cavan is in an awful state, and has been this way for decades, the fact that no Cavan club has ever won an Senior Ulster Club title and in fact have only managed to make a couple of finals, reflects more the true level of club football in Cavan.

We have far too many clubs, most with a scattering of good players but overall the quality of teams is quite poor. Now we have this nonsense of a whole host of awful teams in the Senior championship. We really need a complete rethink of how club football is run in this county. We need to go for far more amalgamations, at the moment we have loads of divisions at all levels of football, schoolboy up to Senior with loads of teams, which is by and large playing mediocre football. A major overhaul is needed, but there really is no will to do so, clubs especially the smaller one would rather win a junior C than amalgamate and win the junior A, higher up clubs would rather lose in QF of Senior than amalgamate and actually make the final or win it.
The fact that junior clubs refuse to let the reserve teams of the Senior clubs play in the Junior championship show all that is wrong with the thinking in Cavan football, the fear of raising the standard in case it might lessen their chance of winning is small time thinking. And is why Cavan are really no where when it comes to Senior County Championship Football.

I wouldn't be overly disappointed the future is still bright with the right management. Just look at Monaghan we had a disasterous two years under Eamon McEnaney but got Malachy in and our team has flourished. If the management can get the players hungry and enjoying there football again then Cavan can still make progress. With killian Clarke, Keating, Givney, Rory Dunne, Alan Clarke and yes Seanie back Cavan can be a team that can win Ulster. No county can afford to have their best players missing and expect to progress. It's time for the new management to get the best footballers onto the field instead of a bunch of robots.

We can never play well against Roscommon ,and its the system they play , and Terry sticks to the same system to play everyone too ,all you needed to do was to watch what Sligo done to them, on top of them giving them zero time on the ball and Roscommon hadn't a clue what to do ,if terry was a good tactician he would of copied Sligo and played a bit more defensively, at the end of the day we have a poor forward line because of terry ,he's in charge and the buck stops with him, he picked his panel of players he wanted ,we knew coming into the championship we had no forwards on he panel and it didn't seem to bother him too much, like we put up 1-15 with no forwards we can defiantly do something with a few decent forwards ,no matter what anyone thinks our three best forwards weren't playing, I seen Mackey playing forward before so he should of been in there as we have no forwards and loads of players that could of filled his spot. and Barry Reilly should be starting games too.

Mowbar.... You are correct in what u say and you could also add the disasterous disision of the CB to not have promotion or relagatoin for two years in our leagues... This was demanded by Mattie Kerrigan to get full control of the players and our usually competitive league system has been a disaster since... CB have bent over to too many managers demands as regards club football i my view... There has been a lack of disipline all year that cost us matches but when u dont have it on the line (.Forde ) then its hard to expect to see it on the pitch... Big changes needed but please dont appoint anyone from U-21 set up

I think it is evident from yesterday that a few changes need to be made in the first team squad. one or two that have been there consistentlyfor a while need to step aside. I think some of the players that were introduced yesterday have a lot more to offer at this particular moment in time. It's true that we were without, Keating,Givney,Rory Dunne, Killian Clarke and Niall McDermott (for the most part) and played with 14 men for half the game on a hot day. It would be interesting to see how we would cope if all those factors were not at play. at times yesterday there were too many of our players playing on top of each other round the middle, lads going on burstd and passing it off to a lad standing on top of them and him then doing the same, this business of soloing over the field and taking the bal into crowded areas is no use. It seemed when barry Reilly came on, at least he tried to look up and attempt to play a decent ball in to the full-forward line. But the likes of Mcvitty,M.Reilly and Mackey just soloing througfh the middle with no end product was frustrating. Our defence was pretty poor also, we let men get ahead of us and then tried to tackle from behind or didnt tackle at all. basically Roscommon outwitted us which was a surprise given how bad they looked v Sligo. also what is the big idea of players wrestling the ball from a player on the ground after a free is given, just let him up instead 2 or three surround him and maul him as if to protray urgency then they get the ball, dither and pass it back 20 metres. It's ridiculous that experienced players can show such indicipline as Mossy did yesterday. completely needless very depressed this morning. when you think that the likes of longford, kildare and either fermanagh/antrim will be in the bowl for the next round and we are out. it's a shame that they risked K.Clarke in London(a game where he clearly wasn't needed) and thus screwed up his chances of playing yesterday, that was badly managed. He should have been rested until the next round.

Gilesenan, keating, Clarke, givney, Rory Dunne all played last year against Armagh, most against Roscommon too.
We are always crying about the absence of these players but they didn't make much difference when they were there.
Maybe we are believing some our own hype about some of the lads??
Same goes for our supposed big men in midfield/full forward yesterday

Roscommon were missing the spine of their team and still won easily.
here we went wrong was when we cast aside our flair and went totally defensive.
Players afraid to express themselves and had to conform to a system.
We could have mixed both and kept many of the players who left.
Management change needed now before we waste yet another generation of talent to a failed project.

Madge listening to your point but we were always there or there abouts a draw a point or two but yesterday was doom three goals in from a team who had players only half fit players after injury not good enough in my eyes i suppose we all see things differently

I am gutted, so disappointed with the display yesterday.Posters here are being overly negative. Roscommon came to Breffni with a mission and to their credit, they won in emphatic style. We had no plan A, never mind a plan B.
Why Oh Why was Argue left on the square, the ball in was so bad, could he not have been moved out to mid field?? To be fair to Gearoid,he was trying to be everywhere, why was Galligan not trying to find him with the kick out?
Young Hayes is a good player, but I have not seen him deliver in any game for the Seniors this year. cannot fathom why they brought him on against Monaghan either!
Cathal Cregg ran riot for the entire first half, yet nothing was done to try to keep him quiet!
Too many balls given away, too slow moving forward.
I don't want to join the negative brigade, but I'm afraid the time has come for major changes. Our style of play is not working.they even brought on a back (Smith ) as a forward yesterday!!!
Brady, Reilly did well when they came on, Dunne should have been on sooner, he seems to have fallen out of favour with the management as have one or two others. Have to say Niall Murray has been improving in every game, that's a positive.
Things are not as bad as it seems, we have the players, we just need to get someone who knows how to use them more effectively.
Mc Dermotts injury and the sendng off didn't help either.
Time now to move forward, get a new style of play, let backs defend and for God's sake let forwards play as forwards!
Club championship time, lets see how the club managers use these players, maybe Terry will go to a few games?
Forde would be better employed watching the game than throwing tantrums at officials. Thought the GAA was about giving Respect!

Yet another home game where the away support near outnumbers ours... As I warned last yeat people are not stupid enough to pay in to watch rubbish... Surley now those who thought Cavan were makeing progress under this manager can see the folly of their views... Hylands record in Co management is extremly poor and under his watch he has frozen out 3 of our best forewards in recent times..Johnston...Keating and now Martin Dunne cant get a game... That is really poor man management in my view...!!
