Thanks Samuraiblue for posting a sensible post which also informs. Compared to the tired old dross that others on here have been posting.

The whole qualifier thing does seem lop-sided. with all quite alot of the top ulster counties all on the one-side with all the div 4 teams in our pot.

it does seem a little crazy that two teams that have met already can still meet it the qualifiers (I am assuming that that is the case if they are on the same side of the draw (as in Laois and Kildare on our side. unless of course they have legislated for that occurance this year.

1. Where two teams who have already met in the 2015 Provincial Championship, are drawn to meet, the winner of the earlier game in the Championship shall have home venue
2. Except as provided for above, if a County did not have home advantage in the 1st Round of the 2014 Qualifier Series, it shall have Home Advantage in the 1st Round in 2015. In the event of both teams having played away in 2014 or both teams having played at home the first team drawn shall have home advantage*.

*Counties drawn away in Round 1 in 2014:
London, Fermanagh, Longford, Offaly, Louth, Westmeath, Waterford, Leitrim

Confirmation of home venues, times and all dates for the fixtures will be confirmed following a meeting of C.C.C.C later in the day on June 8th.

My prediction --
WE will probably get Longford in Longford.
Would draw a good crowd.

With draw on radio its gonna be Kildare in St.Conleths - now that should get some new, interesting and constructive debate going;)

I am reluctant to change the team all that much just becuase we lost to Monaghan. Of course, Terry needs to go with the form players but the team doesn't need an overhaul in my opinion. Faster susbtitutions is an absolute requirement however!

I have said it before these qualifer games are a total waste of time and money.... We missed out on a great chance of getting to an Ulster Final because of bad management so a couple of meaninless back door wins wont rectify that problem... We had a chance of winning an Ulster but that ship has sailed yet again...

It makes a mockery of the whole football set up talk about seeding the worst teams to play together is this to facilitate Sky or what?? Congress have to change this for just think of it one of the worst teams in the 34 can get to the last 12 this has to be the biggest joke in GAA history.

So London away. .

Goes without saying that anything other than a win is unacceptable. I expect us to beat them by 5 points.

Well if we don't win this one that would be enough said....

At this stage of the year (After going out of the championship) we usually hear of a couple heading to the states etc...Anyone with their ear to the ground?

I'd expect Cavan to throw off the shackles and send fast accurate ball into the forward line. Our forwards will beat London for pace and London tire always in the 2nd half. Their plan will be Lord it into Mulvey . I'd expect 7/8 winning margin. There is always a swirling wind around Ruislip as its on a height. Not the greatest of pitches and the supporters very near the dugouts. Remind you of a good club grounds. Clubhouse is good with bar open all day during game. No cover on a wet day only from the bar!!! Let's hope it's not raining.we getting a chance now to play good open football running at them at pace. Taking them on and beating them for sheer speed. Let's show what we can do when we let the ball forward fast. No need for 14 men behind the ball or50 hand passes to gain 20 metres! Let the ball in long and fast and play our 3 best scoring forwards closest to goal. Cavan to win by 7/8 possible after kicking 10/22 wides into the bargain .. But what the heck. Have a go . And no hand passing back ways.

My Mystic Meg was nearly right.
I could see an L and an O and an N ...... and just assumed Longford. Had I concentrated a wee bit more instead of jumping the gun ???

Anyway it's London in Ruislip. A nice weekend away if she has no objections or just a nice weekend away anyhow.
It's a pity there's no "back door" for New York.

London again.
Need to put teams like this to the sword.
No Mickey Mouse display like last time.
You saw what a youthful Waterford side did to Cork, so that excuse is dead and buried.

desagov. .

a youthful Waterford team with a marquee forward.

It really is the missing piece for us!

That said, McHale's influence, as of yet, doesn't seem to have gotten our forward unit working to its best. Martin Dunne and Cian Mackey could be absolutely devastating if the right system were in place to allow them to be.

great stuff, At last I will get to a Cavan game without having to travel too far. Really looking forward to this one. Hope it's a lovely Sunny day. It usually is over here in London :). Games in Ruislip are great craic with the clubhouse open all day and BBQ going plus live bands etc. This might be the last game in Ruislip before it is renovated. London didn't do that badly against Galway despite what the pundits said afterwards so it will be no Cakewalk (excuse the pun).
If we get over this hurdle then probably Fermanagh,Tipperary,Laois/Kildare,Sligo will be joining us and the other 3 winners so it will be getting harder.

I predict that the 8 teams in round 2 will be: Longford, Offaly, Cavan, Kildare, Laois, Tipperary, Sligo, Fermanagh,
