Although im a big Fan off Mc keever.. Its worrying enough that F Flanagan Mc keever & lyng can still get in ahead off 4 years off U21 players.. Denn Man (Cavan) - Posts: 413 - 05/03/2015 11:33:12 1699385 Link 0 |
Dennman - Terry has a system that isnt working, full stop. Hes 4 yrs into his tenure, within that 4 yrs, we've got promoted once. cavanblueman (Cavan) - Posts: 441 - 05/03/2015 12:50:19 1699414 Link 0 |
A rise in temperature today, hopefully a dry mild night on Saturday, good football conditions, lets see what the boys can then do on the field of play. Always thought that this is a team that will do better when the pitches firm up. kildare blue (Cavan) - Posts: 572 - 05/03/2015 12:54:46 1699417 Link 0 |
Cavanblueman. Was Jason McLoughlin in his own half when he scored a point. No wonder the Celt said he was our best player. No point debating with fools though. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 05/03/2015 13:49:49 1699447 Link 0 |
Outstanding contribution cavanblueman. Let me pick at your nonsense. Skelling (USA) - Posts: 288 - 05/03/2015 14:40:42 1699468 Link 0 |
FREDFLINT - it would have been some point if he score it from his own half...You'll find McLoughlin got a telling off after the match for being so far up the field - in any case, seeing as you know so much, how many of our back line have scored in 2015, should give you an indication on what players are told. cavanblueman (Cavan) - Posts: 441 - 05/03/2015 15:03:00 1699480 Link 0 |
So your original point blown out of the water you now know that Terry gave out to Jason for attacking to far forward. Up the yard with ya. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 05/03/2015 17:58:39 1699557 Link 0 |
I see Hayes and Tinnelly have left the panel, disappointing news hopefully there are no more to follow. P.Mus (Cavan) - Posts: 386 - 05/03/2015 19:46:12 1699587 Link 0 |
Cavanblueman , why do you (and others) have to make silly exaggerations to make a point ? Whatever argument you're making (I'm not saying you may not have a valid point) just gets lost because there's so many holes in how you put your point across . If you have something valid to say you should be able to get it across without sounding like you have some personal agenda . From your previous rant the only thing I can acknowledge from it is "We had the wind at our backs in the 2nd half against Down Sat night, when things werent working out, the management never changed things " . As for the rest , can't be taken seriously . Hardtimes (Cavan) - Posts: 1056 - 05/03/2015 19:55:56 1699594 Link 0 |
Very disappointing if that's is correct about Hayes and Tinley leaving the panel, in a way I can't blame the guy's , they probably realised they weren't one of the managers favourites , and no matter how well they played they weren't going to get much game time, unlike others in the panel. goonie (Cavan) - Posts: 292 - 05/03/2015 20:38:43 1699615 Link 0 |
Two players are supposed to have left the panel. Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 05/03/2015 20:50:59 1699620 Link 0 |

Very sad to read in the Anglo Celt online that Josh Hayes and Philip Tinnley have left the panel. Its a massive blow mid way through the league. cavan97 (Cavan) - Posts: 369 - 06/03/2015 14:45:30 1699836 Link 0 |
What's the team for tomorrow does anybody know? Will we have 15? IamADragon (Cavan) - Posts: 269 - 06/03/2015 14:46:40 1699837 Link 0 |
I'm not overly concerned about Tinnelly but Hayes is a big loss. Was he not man of the match against Monaghan in the McKenna Cup? I thought he had a super game. That said, he is regularly dropped for Killian Brady and I feel that it is harsh. I can't blame him seeing for walking as he was brought on for a couple of minutes against both Laois and Down. His performances in the McKenna Cup didn't warrant that disrepect. BreffniGuide (Cavan) - Posts: 450 - 06/03/2015 15:24:38 1699865 Link 0 |
That's a good post Cavan97 . I'd have to agree with all that . I personally think Kevin Tierney was treated very poorly as well and it has come back to bite us . We could do with having him now as another forward option . While I believe overall our forward options are limited I find it frustrating with this management that they indulge certain players no matter what their contribution and others only get scraps of game time . We simply cannot afford to keep haemorrhaging players. I think we'd all like to know the reason these boys are walking away. We're a small county with a limited panel. Hayes is a big loss and is not readily replaceable. One thing this Cavan team lacks is pace and Hayes had that. Ned_Stormcrow (Cavan) - Posts: 1022 - 06/03/2015 17:00:59 1699910 Link 0 |
Have to agree with the sentiments of previous posters, Hayes is a major loss, has pace bravery and a very honest player, often thought he was harshly treated, have seen him dropped before after very good performances. Again begs the question why do so many players get their place no matter how poorly they play.? Tinnelly burst on to the scene looked like he had great promise but went backwards under the current management as did Declan Mc Kiernan , David Givney and Kevin Tierney. IMO hylands biggest problem is not within his squad of players but rather within his squad of selectors, if he doesn't deal with it it's about to sink him. We have the players to stay in Div 2 even win it, and to beat Monaghan and go on in Ulster but as they are currently being undermined and lost I am beginnin to despair. I'm worried about tomorrow night will go to the game but......well I hope I'm wrong. shannon414 (Cavan) - Posts: 228 - 06/03/2015 17:57:45 1699930 Link 0 |
When I heard about the two latest defections from the camp I thought it was a windup. Hayes in particular was the last player I expected to leave voluntarily. He put up with a lot of disappointments under this management and kept coming back for more. He seemed to have established himself during the McKenna cup this year and marked Conor Laverty out of it in the Down match. The same Conor Laverty who was MOM last week in Hayes's absence. ondforty (Cavan) - Posts: 442 - 06/03/2015 18:21:21 1699937 Link 0 |
we have a better team not playing at the moment with all the defections If you look at the players that are gone ie Declan Mc Kiernan ,Alan Clarke, David Givney Kevin Tierney ,Josh Hayes Philip Tinnelly ,Eugene Keating ,etc. they are all excellent footballers who have been treated badly by the management probably because they couldnt adapt to the so-called system. We will end up with a team where everyone is the same - no individual flair - all workhorses - afraid to take a chance in case it wouldnt look good on the stats. tenyearplan (Cavan) - Posts: 130 - 06/03/2015 21:35:13 1699992 Link 0 |
