Just over a week to go - how do people feel this will go ? Down will be difficult to beat but will not relish having to come to Breffni needing points . Too close to call but I'll give Cavan the nod purely out of bias . McLoughlin will have his work cut out keeping Laverty quiet ! Hardtimes (Cavan) - Posts: 1056 - 19/02/2015 21:27:30 1695164 Link 0 |
The real business starts now, teams are falling into their stride and the wheat begins to separate from the chaff, Down are never easy to beat and we won't get it as easy as we did in Portlaoise. But we are certainly capable of beating them. JonSmith (Cavan) - Posts: 1451 - 20/02/2015 18:46:16 1695389 Link 0 |
Yes this game and the Galway game I would be nervous about ,I think it will all come down to long range scoring and who gets goals ,but I hope Cavan will take all the points but Down is the team that could topple us ,but this Cavan team doesn't like to loose and they will fight for every second of the 70 mmins ,that's what I admire about this current set up . bisto kid (Cavan) - Posts: 492 - 20/02/2015 18:50:29 1695390 Link 0 |
This is a very important game, could make or break us, Down will want to right the wrongs of their Mc Kenna cup loss to us, home advantage will help us , I fancy us to push on now and win this by 3-4 points. Would set us up well shannon414 (Cavan) - Posts: 228 - 21/02/2015 14:42:47 1695478 Link 0 |
I would be happy to take a point from Down Kildare and Galway do fine. mowbar (Cavan) - Posts: 452 - 22/02/2015 11:45:47 1695637 Link 0 |
Its going to be a tight group, only Laois for me are certain to go down. Kildare will come back. A loss against Down would push us down into the dog fight again so I think this is a critical game to win. Beating Down will put daylight between us and a couple of teams. I see nothing in Down to be overly worried about. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 22/02/2015 12:10:12 1695641 Link 0 |
Down have been distinctly average this past while, and are showing no signs of making any sort of breakthrough, unlike ourselves who are on a steady, steady rise. Home advantage is vital and I think we'll win by 3. Ned_Stormcrow (Cavan) - Posts: 1022 - 22/02/2015 12:30:34 1695644 Link 0 |
A point will do fine a win will be even better, I would call this match a draw mowbar (Cavan) - Posts: 452 - 22/02/2015 12:47:57 1695648 Link 0 |
I think after two great games under our belt we should have no boder competing against down. It is all in our favour we have home advantage and no major injuries. Cavan to win by 3+ Mounty (Cavan) - Posts: 32 - 22/02/2015 15:08:28 1695676 Link 0 |
The Down game is a must win as it's a home game against a team we can and should beat. Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 22/02/2015 16:04:47 1695702 Link 0 |
Donal O Hare and Conor Laverty very good in the Full Forward line, Down should be better after the couple of weeks break, but would fancy Cavan to with home advantage. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2216 - 22/02/2015 18:27:13 1695760 Link 0 |
Will be gutted if we don't come away with 2 points Saturday. Hopefully we will have a good crowd in and get behind the lads. C'MON CAVAN!!!!!!! cavan97 (Cavan) - Posts: 369 - 26/02/2015 08:53:34 1696955 Link 0 |
I would like to see us improve our record in home games which hasnt been great in the last few years especially the big ones. We need a 'fortress Breifne' mentality when other teams come to visit. Consistently good turn out from supporters and a never say die attitude from the boys on the pitch could make Breifne Park an intimidating place for other counties to visit. Pride in that blue jersey above all else is needed. Best of luck to Terry and the boys on Saturday night, Id say theres going to be a good attendance for this one facer4home (Cavan) - Posts: 116 - 26/02/2015 15:35:33 1697136 Link 0 |
Would expect a big crowd in Breffni. The Cavan crowd in Portlaoise was impressive. We've been given two very entertaining games away from home, now lets make our home advantage count and get out in numbers on Saturday. A win will go a long way to survival in the Division. Best of luck to Terry and all the lads! JonSmith (Cavan) - Posts: 1451 - 26/02/2015 19:36:09 1697238 Link 0 |
Going will be heavy the fitness with be an issue and there is no reason why Cavan should not win but the way the division is at the moment Down will be happy with a point. The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4565 - 26/02/2015 21:32:36 1697270 Link 0 |
Anyone know if Killian Clarke is out for tonight's game? Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 28/02/2015 13:43:38 1697636 Link 0 |
Why did they leave DJ Reilly and Flannagan on when they were on yellow? Substitutions too late and ineffective, questions need to be answered. Really expected a much better performance. shannon414 (Cavan) - Posts: 228 - 28/02/2015 20:53:24 1697750 Link 0 |
What use was bringing Mackey on in injury time. desagov (Cavan) - Posts: 201 - 28/02/2015 20:56:03 1697753 Link 0 |
Talk about miserable. And I don't just mean the weather. Ill discipline and silly decision making cost us tonight. We're facing a very tough battle to stay in this division. Cavan lack a few things. A killer instinct. When we drew level we folded. Ned_Stormcrow (Cavan) - Posts: 1022 - 28/02/2015 21:04:03 1697755 Link 0 |
