The league fixtures have gone to clubs. Hardly going to have championship planned yet. As for making arrangements I'm sure there'll be lots of games subject to change.

there should be no cancellations or postponments for, weddings, funerals, enaggements, 21sts etc etc. just stick by the fixtures. there should be always enough players available to field a team.

If only !! There were games last year when we had 15 on the field and no subs. One lad got injured and we had to finish the game with 14.
Only advantage is, everyone gets a game but if there is someone sick, injured or decides to immigrate then we have problems. Amalgamation were discussed but was shot down - not sure if it was pride, being stubborn, afraid to face facts or others were not interested.
This year we have 16 players as one young lad has come out of u16's. If we have any problems during the year we will have to forfeit games.
Yet we still have to pay the huge club levy to the county board. We struggle to exist and are lucky to have the support of the parish as we are constantly fundraising to survive. One day their patience will run out !!
Not all clubs are flush with players !!!We haven't fielded an u16 or minor team on our own in the past 6 years !
Anyway back to the fixture list - as one poster said, it's not worth the paper its written on !!!

SGoldrick - Of course there should be postponements for funerals, have a bit of cop on would you. The master fixture has been released to all clubs, but clubs dont bat an eye lid, because, the County Board can change them when they want.
The fixture list is a shambles, senior championship doesnt start til end of July, when it whould be starting end of May/June.
Again, we will see gaps of 3 to 4 weeks between games. The sooner there is a reorginisation of the County board the better.

In fairness the fixtures plan is a joke but its still gives lads a rough idea of when a game might be a give ya a little spectrum for planning stuff.. County board have fixtures for 2014 up on theyre site ya think theyd at least throw the 2015 ones up on their site hardly be that big a job would it..

Three week break between National League game - any reason the ACFL couldnt start this weekend and run concurrently, with exception of Cavan's National League games. Get rid of the Breffni league altogether, its adds nothing at all.
We want to promote football in the County, strengthen the Senior County Team, how can we when theres no regular Senior Club Football. We want to reduce player burn out in order to give players a break, start the ACFL and Championship early, and finish them early, so players get a good rest.
The other thing is, Junior League matches need to be played the same day as Senior league matches, to keep the interest alive.
Word on the street, is there is only a handful of junior B teams this year, with only 3 junior teams in Div 1B.

League Fixtures (15 Rounds Fixed) - Feb 22nd, March 8th, March 22nd, April 4th, April 12th, April 19th, April 26th, May 1st, May 10th, May 17th, May 31st, June 5th, June 14th, June 28th, July 5th - No more than 2 week gap at any point. 3 Rounds to be fixed after July 5th.
May 31st is also possible start to Championship. July 26th more likely. How many games would you think you would get played in Club Championship in May/ June when the County Team is playing in Ulster on May 24th and will still be in Ulster or Qualifiers in June/ July?? Or are you lads going to encourage your clubs to play Championship Football without your County Players??

Reserve League - Div. 1A - 8 Teams, Div. 1B - 8 Teams, Div. 2 - 10 Teams, Div. 3 - 6 Teams. Word on the street not always the most reliable source of information. Try asking your Club Secretary. They get there info from the County Board...

SGoldrick cast out the line with the hook baited and you fell for it.
SGoldrick was being sarcastic and every right to do so to be honest with you. .

SS1 - thank you for your kind advice - Im actually actively involved with one of the senior clubs, I have possession of the proposed master fixture list, and we also received official confirmation of the junior fixtures - to date, only three senior div 1 b clubs have confirmed a junior team for the coming year. Im not sure where you got your fixture list from, but the ACFL kicks of on the 22nd March, then next ACFL games doesnt take place til the 19th April (nearly a 4 week gap not 2). Theres a round 4 ACFL on the 1st May, and round 5 doesnt happen until 31st May (again, nearly a 4 week gap). Round 6 is on the 1st June and theres no ACFL scheduled in after that. 26th July is when the Club Championship begins, so im not sure where you got May from.
Senior Final isnt scheduled until the 27th September.

In any case, fixture lists in Cavan mean absolutely nothing, when a junior league final is played in December, its the failures of
the County board in a nutshell.

Cavanblueman - Time to go back an have another read of your emails, there. And the Master Fixture Plan, while your at it. Last email sent on Reserve Football has 8 Teams confirmed for Division 1B. Arva, Killygarry, Drumgoon, Gowna, Cuchulainns, Drumalane, Crosserlough and Denn It was sent at the weekend, Sunday from what i have been told, to all Clubs. Secondly, the ACFL is not the complete league, as i am sure you well know, being such an expert. Maybe you are one of those idiots who just ignore the Breffni League but its there, take my word for it. The 15 Dates i listed are both Breffni League and ACFL. The moaners on here want football for Club Players. That's why the Breffni League exists, so Football for Clubs doesn't come to a standstill when the County Players are unavailable. On the Master Fixture Plan on May 31st, it clearly states ACFL (5)/ Championship. On further investigation, i have been told by someone with a little more knowledge than you (who thought it was possible) that there is a chance that the Prelim Rds of the Cavan Championship will be played on May 31st. A small chance, but a chance all the same. Finally, the Championship Final is set for Sept 27th as even with the Prelim early, the Championship won't continue until Cavan Seniors are out of the All Ireland Series. As it's an actual Championship and not a weekend blitz, it will take a few weeks to play it. If the Juniors repeat the success of 2014, there will be a few weekends in August where no Championship will be played at all so Sept 27th is probably a realistic target.

Thanks SS1 with your kind comments - as a current 'SECRETARY' of a Division 1 Club and with the master fixtures list 'open' here in
front of me, I think I have enough 'inside' knowledge to know what and when things are happening -
