He is making sure he is 100% before he comes back. If management didn't rush him back far too early last year then he wouldn't be in this position now.

Injured a long time !!!

you seem to have an unhealthy obsession with mackey !!
His injury which no boubt is like those of givney and keating is going on for a long time simply because when it is " nearly healed" or begining to feel better they start playing on it again. And what do you know, it appears again, and again and .......
In professional sports players are not allowed back until they are fully fit. In our amateur sport they are rushed back if not for county for their club.
How many times have you seen a fella with an injury being asked " can you gve us 15 minutes" or he says to the manager " i think i could manage a half" It just goes on and on
The player should not be expected to play for either club or county unless they are FULLY recovered from injury and the player should be wise enough and strong enough to say no

StirringIt

You have it exactly right from what I heard.
Cian Mackey is injured and the injury would have cleared up ages ago if he didn't
play all those half hours and all the rest when he just shouldn't have. It's incredible that a
quality player like him has to go through this at a time when we're supposed to have state of the art
facilities and fitness protocols. It's the story of Cavan football down the years - club and county alike.

Does nobody read the Celt? Mackey said himself in an interview that he is trying to get his injury right once and for all and hopes to be back towards the tail end of the league.

He was doing maor uisce against Fermanagh. He actually pointed out a sideline ball where the Fermanagh man stepped over the line to the linesman and the Fermanagh player wasn't best impressed!

Stirring it: obsession with Mackey injury.
I'd say a healthy interest in Mackey's injury.
This player is so important to the Cavan setup or maybe you've forgotten that.
Unlike Kerry we don't have a ready made replacement.
Hopefully he will be fully fit for championship.
Thanks. to all the other posters for all the updates.

Cian is flying on all cylinders and those of you that say you go to all the match could not help but notice he was togged out for the Fermanagh game and was doing work with the team before the start. He is doing fine and a roll model for the younger lad's.

No lad. I was commenting on your post, agreeing with you that if lads were at the games they'd know Mackey was there

If we are depending on one player then we are in trouble
