Replying To CavanAgain:  "What Lavey hoodoo? Haven't Castlerahan beaten Lavey every single time they've played an important match?"
4 games in 4 years and Castlerahan have only beaten them once, after a replay in 2018 semi final. That's a poor record against a side for the high regard I'd hold Castlerahan in. Lavey wouldn't be one of the top teams in senior after all.
I just find it surprising that Castlerahan do tend to struggle a bit against their near neighbours.

Replying To CavanAgain:  "What do you think for the senior quarter finals?"
I expect Ramor to beat Cavan Gaels comfortably - Ramor by about 5 points.

I think Lavey will trouble Castlerahan greatly and I am more or less 50/50 on this one, But as they are my 2nd Favourites to lift the Cup I will have to go with Castlerahan by 1.

I think Xlough are a touch overhyped but should dispose of the 7th best team in the competition in Gowna quite easily with a strong first half blitz and hold on to win. Xlough by 5.

More of a battle than alot of people probably expect I would think, but Kingscourt by to beat Mullahoran by 5.

Senior quarter final predictions:

Gaels v Ramor - fancy the Gaels to cause a bit of an upset here and win a tight game by 1 or 2.

Lavey v Castlerahan - Rahan should win this one. Might wobble early on but should have enough over the 60 minutes to win by 3 or 4.

Crosserlough v Gowna - Crosserlough should win this one and will be eager to lay down a marker, and win by 6.

Kingscourt v Mullahoran - The Dreadnoughts did better than expected getting this far, but I think Kingscourt have that bit more quality and should see it out comfortably by 8.

But sure who knows? It's quare squeaky bum time now!

Bottled what? Castlerahan are a superior team to them so Lavey have done well the last few years to get three draws out of four games.

Well that's the Gaels prediction wrong anyway I'm happy to say! Quite the trimming for Ramor.

Would you like a saucer with that milk? Don't think the one player who transferred to them made the ten point difference.

I watched the Gaels match last night and it would be fair to say that the man of the match was McKiernan by streets, he was all over the place at full back at full forward and midfield. This move to senior football is what he needed so for the County a good result. Good luck to him going forward. There were loads of different players is this team last night that did not play in their two previous games. O'Connor Molloy Dunne did very well. Nice to see my friend in the GAA Robert Moloney Durham back playing at the top once again. They were by far the better team and made Ramor look out of their league. Not sure if the Gaels were great or Ramor were bad but it would be a brave person to predict against them winning the senior title once again. It would be nice to see Gaels and Crosserlough in the final for Crosserlough play an open game as did the gaels last night.

Do Castlerahan , Gowna or Kingscourt not play good open football either ? You musnt have seen too many games . Cavan Gaels werent near the top scorers in the group stages. Also this nonsense that Mc Kiernans move to a senior team will benefit the county has no basis in fact - , look at Stephen King - played all his football for a junior/intermediate team and was still one of the best midfielders in the country . Anthony Forde played no better football for Cavan after his move than before it either . There are numerous other examples - an awful lot of the great Meath teams than won Al-Irelands were playing with junior clubs - at the end of the day either you have it or you havent !

I agree it will do him no harm no he won't be any better. The gaels don't play any more open football than anyone else.
I think the gaels should win it now

As a neutral at the ballinagh belturbet game, have to say I was not surprised by the result.think the have over achieved this year as it is. The are punching above there weight this 3 years and alot off them has not the bottle for the big fight. You just have to look at the laragh game to see that. Ballinagh by 10+ in the quarter final very impressive and can go on to win it.

3 out of the 4 games predicted to a tee in the descriptions, right down to Xlough's first half blitz and Kingscourts struggle with Mullahoran.

Once again I have allowed my bias towards the Gaels transfer policy sway me from the prudent prediction. Ramor were under par on the day but anyone who was at the game like myself would not be in any doubt that McKiernan was the difference between the teams.

Thinking clearly and head over-ruling heart again at this moment in time, the Gaels are now worthy red hot favourites and should breeze past Kingscourt by 6+.

On the other semi, there is more future potential in years to come to topple the Gaels in Xlough than their is in the Rahan, but I think a competitive county final needs a Caslerahan win here, in what is probably a 50/50 game, but I will go with Castlerahan by 1 in both the semi's and the final.

If you were to ask me for a value tip in terms of an #AskPaddy bet of the Semi's; I would probably suggest Padraig Faulkner to score 1 or more goals Vs the Gaels might be worth a few bob.

You speak a lot about the Gaels's transfer policy but you never mention Castlerahan or Ramor's fondness for a transfer or two. Both Castlerahan and Ramor have been much more active in the transfer market in recent seasons than the Gaels..

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day!

If Faulkner had scored all the goals you've predicted him to over the years, he'd be closing in on Pele's record!

I think I'm one of the most fair and neutral posters on this forum. The Rahan seem to have all and only players that are actually from Castlerahan playing with them this year, thus I have no need to comment on their transfer policy.

In terms of Ramor, insofar as I was aware, their signings were just relocated Guards. I take no objection to that. The Guards has to be let play football too.
