I'd call that result today "eating up Laois "Fred

It was but as you know I was pointing out the mixed messages in your original post, if you'd have asked me I would be told you I fancied us to beat an over hyped Laois.

It's hard to see how this team beat Armagh as we were easily the better team today. The game was well-managed by Cavan. We seem to have got very good at finding a player in support when we need them while at the same time looking for opportunities to attack. Somebody mentioned that midfield needed sorting I'm not so sure. In the second half we had McKernan galligan McGee and conroy across the middle when needed and I liked the tactic. We seemed very good at inter changing position when needed. Martin Reilly was excellent and everywhere.. gunner Holla Pierson smith and so many were good too..

well done to the lads, that's two really impressive wins on the bounce considering where this squad is coming from. like everyone else on here I was worried about the league and more so by the attitude when you see so many lads walking away for various reasons. but the point was made that whos there is there and they would be better just getting on with it, which it appears they certainly have!! I know its only two wins but some lads thrown in at the deep end seem to be going really well and taking big roles upon themselves, I feel that they are safe now and they will pick up a few more points here and there, three weeks ago people would laugh but looking at that league table it's hard not to think that maybe Cavan could be in the promotion hunt again!!! I know the lads would love to meet Armagh again!! also I must add that the lads look in super shape. keep it going and I'm looking forward to brewster which has been a very happy hunting ground for us over the years.

That Armagh league game was an outlier. They were coming after us after Ulster last year. They beat us well in the McKenna Cup, then again in the league with a very strong team that had a lot of starters from the Ulster semi. Our two games had a lot of new young lads first of all, and then the more established fellas in the league who were playing for the first time this year. We're up and going now and the lads are looking fit, in form, and going well. Not saying we'd beat Armagh, but if we played them next week, it'd be a lot closer than the first game would suggest...

Yeah, by all accounts the training from November thru January was insane and the lads were leggy up in Armagh as a result.
They've eased off now that we're into the league and the work done is starting to pay off by the looks of things.
At the start of the campaign, I'd have said we'd lose to Armagh, Kildare and Roscommon, and win the rest of our games. Still on track to do that and I'd say possibly beat Kildare or Ros. That would get us promoted for the 3rd time in our last 3 division 2 campaigns despite losing key men each time.

Have to say I didn't see that coming. Black card was a help and the wind seem to die a bit in the second half. Not often we get luck like that. Stilll, you have to play your football to win and these lads are beginning to look consistent.

Great to have a few leaders like Holla and Martin R. The way the results are going I'd say 6 points would keep us up. It would be great to get the two in Brewster, but that will be more difficult now that we will be taken a bit more seriously than at the start of the campaign.

Theres nothing to cheer Cavan people up more than an improving team at this time of the year. Long may it continue. Well done all.

Brewster Park will probaly be in doubt tomorrow if it keeps raining. It doesn't much to flood it, damp area.

Can they play Sunday if it can't go ahead tomorrow? I presume so. Might have dried up a bit by then.

It will probably be worse Sunday with the forecast there is, maybe a break might be good for us after playing last week.

Fermanagh will be tough this evening but I hope, no matter what the result, that we won't see the return of the naysayers if things don't go our way on this forum. This group of players have shown over the last two games that they are putting in the hard slog and deserve our support. I think there's a real push towards ''think before you type'' at the minute with recent events and certain people on here need to realise that the players read what is typed. Dara McVeety has already referenced that.
So how about we all get behind the lads, no what matter the result, and the feedback is kept positive.
No matter what else you question, you can't question their work ethic, heart and determination.

ok, so lets not voice opinions. Lets just sugar coat everything and give participation medals to everyone. Maybe that's whats wrong with the world. If people don't like whats said, don't read it, log off or just don't heed it. Maybe people need to stop worrying about what others think about them and they might be better off

There's opinions and then there's the endless negativity you get from certain posters on here. There are ways to get your point across without being antagonistic. It's all well and good saying to ignore it but curiosity does get the better of people and of course they will have people telling them what is said too.

Well done lads. The threat of relegation surely now off the agenda. Home wins against Clare and Roscommon may well be enough for promotion.

I'm hoarse after that , it was nerve recking at times , great to see Mc Kiernan get his form back , good all round display by the lads , they dug in deep to pull a win out of that .

another great win in very difficult conditions. fair play to everyone of the lads. Working hard for each other up and down the field. It's great to see us not panicing when we concede goals. a few tough games ahead but they cant be faulted at the moment whatever happens against The Rossies, Kildare and Clare.
