We all have opinions of who we would like to see on county panel and you shouldn't be afraid to name them because they are only opinions after all! I would love to see Barry reilly from kingscourt on because I think he has the skill , football brain he is on excellent free taker, but he can't commit due to work ! Joe dillion is on other! Fergal Flanagan! Kevin Meehan! Paddy carrol good defender! Conor smith killygarry! Injured ! Killian the gunner should have been starting ! But these are just my opinions and nobody has to agree with me this is a discussion board! Put your opinions out Sean."
Yes Joe Dillon is one on my list and I cannot understand why he is not on the panel. I know temperament is a problem but this can be worked on as it should be done with Brady & Moynagh I know if people sat down with the likes of K Clarke he too could turn out to be one of our better players but he has a trait in him that needs to worked on. If management worked on these issues Cavan would be in a far better place. Every county player should be made fill out a questioner and it would be a step in the right direction. Martin Reilly is getting on now but I really feel sorry for him for I am sure he himself now does not know what position he should be playing in. He is either a half forward or a half back not a corner back but as you know yourself Martin is a wing half forward but if stuck put the number 7 shirt on him and stop working him into the ground. I have said it before and I will say it again there are too many malingerers and the sooner they either play in the national league the better and to be honest I don't care how good they are if they don't play in the national league they don't play in the championship plain and simple. I mentioned Barry but as usual they same old names knock it. Barry Reilly is a Dairy farmer and the county board should do everything in their power to help him so he can play for the county.
If I were to put some of the players I noted over the last 18 months the usual know all's on here would as usual make a laugh of it despite in their heart they know I am right.

This doesn't mean anything unless we continue to progress so hopefully we will More determination to fight for the jersey when the pressure comes on is something we always had To be honest the Tyrone game is the first time I saw us walking away from a challenge as willingly for a long time That hurt all of us I think"
I know what you wrote!
If walking away from a challenge is the best way to describe things I'm glad your not the Manager.
Despite the majority of this Cavan team being together for the last 6/7 years you seem happy that we playing the likes of Donegal/ Tyrone .
How do you identify progress under Mickey? Is it beating Armagh after a replay? Because we usually lose replays.

He doesn't give opinions so people should stop asking for them or humouring him and ignore him until he gets sense and stops polluting this forum. Just talking in absolute pointless riddles.

I wouldn't deny anyone the right to express their opinion, but I don't think that is what Sean is even doing.

I would agree with you Blueman1903 on Barry Reilly, Kevin Meehan, Conor Smith and definitely Fergal Flanagan, of your list above, all worth a go as they provide something different to what is there at the moment.

I change my opinion on the Gunner every time I see him but he should be on the panel also anyway.

But Sean, isn't a forum like this all about opinions??

Blueman put up a list of players, and there are some I agree with and others I wouldn't.

If you did the same, then you'd have people debate the merits of each player - what's wrong with that??

For example, I don't think anyone disagrees with you that it would be great if Barry Reilly could commit. And yeah, maybe the county board can help with that.

PatTheDandy I take it you are talking about yourself. I will not make posts just to please people like you that really don't have a clue whats is going on around Cavan. When I read week after week about the few that are the greatest thing that happened to the senior set up in Cavan then I know you have not got a clue. How long will Cavan continue to carry injured players year on year so that they might get 15 minuets from them or so in the championship it's just not on. I have watched it year on year and they make a miraculous recovery come championship time. Come on wake up. As for naming players it's not my job to pick anyone but for my own personal reasons I alway's note players that have performed well and to see if they are brought into the set up..

==================================================================================================

I might well post a few because Blueman1903 showed me that some on here have respect which is nice to see.

2018 - Lose to Tyrone by three.
2019 - Lose to a Tyrone by sixteen.

But by all means, keep talking about this wonderful progress. I'm bemused by the mental gymnastics you and others have to perform to actually convince yourselves of this "progress".

I agree with you Cavan_Shambles it's hard to understand how one can see progress. Don't forget we also got relegated and people are happy well I for one am not a bit happy and from what I see the powers that be seem to be happy also how crazy is that. We will have a new chairman in November it will be interesting to see wheres his ambitions lay.

I take your point but would you not agree that our style of play up to the Ulster Final was an improvement on recent years

We were out of our depth after that but we played two of the top four so not entirely unexpected that we were beaten

The manner in which we lost to Tyrone was the real downer but overall I considered that we made progress

That will be tested in the pending league in terms of our style of play and changes to the player group

Look, in an effort to divert the attention away from some who are too 'blinkered' by their own prejudices I might suggest lads I'd like to see getting a look next year. Some were there before I know. Reilly, Dillon, Kingscourt. Veale, O Connor, cavan gaels. Flanagan, Butlersbridge. Conor Smith, killygarry. Bucanan, Kiernan, Ballymachugh. McGovern, Shannon gaels. O Rourke, laragh. Mcdermott (if home) and Carroll, Ballinagh. Conolly, Drumlane. Ryan o Neill, kildallan. O Reilly, Drung. James Smith, Crosserlough. Reece Clark, Bailieborough. Mcgovern, Corlough. Tighe, Killeshandra. There are lots of others which shows that the squad can improve on the gains made this year.

Should the county board give subsidies to dairy farmers?

I thought blueman1903 there was something in you but I got that wrong.

It would seem most are happy to make a mockery of suggestions even if it means we lose quality players. It's a shame people are so blinkered. Suggesting what you are for Barry it was not on my list but as usual your stupid replies shows me that you and like the others you have no interest on the future of Cavan Football.

I'm not making a mockery! I am joking! Of course I think the county board should help to get the like of Barry back playing! And I agree that they should have done that with Charlie Clarke from baileboro back in 95 96 and 97, he had unreal potential! But you need a sense of humor.

Sure the dairy farmers are flying, making over €80k p.a. last I heard. Give a few quid to the poor oul teachers stuck on a paltry €30k, save them having to go to America in the summer to earn decent money ;)
I see Malachy ORourke has opted out of county management for a year. Things could be interesting this time next year if Cavan have a repeat of 2019.

Well we agree then the CB should make every effort to facilitate if it means Cavan going forward will be a force to be reckoned with. Here is a list of a few players that I noted over the last couple of years or so.
Micky Graham should now decide if he can work with them himself or not he has to make efforts to get back in the quality lads that were in and lost and those not called in at all if he wishes to improve the senior set up.
Ray Cullivan mid field getting on now Tierney, O'Connor, Monaghan, Masterson no 1 Mc Givney Mountugent 14. Barry Reilly Kingscourt 10. Eugene Keating Cuchulainns (age not on his side) 14. James Mc Enroe Ramor 6/5/7 half back I would play him in the number 6 shirt. Joe Dillon Kingscourt 15. Pierson, Flannagan C/Rahan Smith and Cooney Killygarry, Kevin Bouchier corner forward 13. Johnny Mc Cabe Arvagh 11 Kiernan, Lynch Buchanan Connolly c/rahan Connlly K/dallen Sheridan if he has recovered from what happened to him that resulted in a broken jaw, Meehan now that the band has split up also O'Reilly Mullahoran, McGlade McGlade Arva. Smith, McCabe from Arva he is away until November but I would get him in when he gets back. Madden was one of my list of players but he is getting a chance now as is Pierson. Since my illness it's been awhile since I got to see games but I will soon and start noting players again.

Yes we agree on that! Ray cullivan was an excellent midfielder but unfortunately I think too much time has passed him by! Pace would be a problem now! Maybe in the league gone by he might have done a job at full forward with the mark in.

Look, although here are many good players mentioned, this is proof that this poster has no clue about club football. Yes some are still capable of county football. However, this is clearly a list of lads who he saw training a few years ago. Sure some aren't even in the country. Lets get back to a debate involving those who actually watch club football. Postscript. Some mentioned are still very good footballers.

All players I noted I saw playing at some stage I was asked to post some I have noted which I did. I would not be privvy to their personal life I would expect the same to apply to you. i have made it clear I have not seen football in awhile due to personal issues but come October I will be up to spec as to whom is still playing football or not. Are you saying all the players I mentioned have been training in Breifni Park I don't think so for the majority have never been involved if they have I have never seen them.

No matter now one can see why I don't bother because you will always have jerks like sceptical have their own negative and then feed the appetite of many.

Enjoy you are a total ass.

If you were aware of my health situation you might have restrained from your stupid ignorant reply. I like to watch teams championship time is the best this way you can see the players with ability I am sure most will agree.

Shame really for it's jerks like you that have Cavan football where it is today.
