I agree with a lot of what your saying here. For me Gaels and Castlerahan are probably on a par at the moment and nobody at all would be surprised if this is the final. I just hope if it is that Castlerahan come out with a better attitude to it than last year (probably the worst final in decades). After them two I think their is a group of about 4 or 5 who can really have a big say yet in the championship. Crosserlough, Ramor, Lacken and Gowna would all fancy themselves against each other and that level of competitiveness is fantastic. There is a huge opportunity for the likes of the Lough, Lacken or Gowna to make a final and although some may feel they are not of the standard of the top two I would love to see one of these teams win a championship and put up a challenge to the usual names like the Gaels and Castlerahan every year. westcavankid (Cavan) - Posts: 83 - 13/09/2018 13:53:53 2141429 Link 0 |
Lavey v LAcken - Can see Lavey winning this as Lacken have been awful last few games and missing big names.Lavey by 3 daddyknowsbest (Cavan) - Posts: 85 - 14/09/2018 16:11:34 2141755 Link 0 |
I definately dont think they threw the game as i was at it and they were winning up until the end and bellinagh got a fisted goal. I would more say it was lack of motivation from Castlerahan as they had qualified already and probably had there minds set on the quarter finals this weekend. the win helped bellinagh as they moved off the bottom of the table and are playing killygarry instead of cootehill so id say that was more the case that Bellinagh had some pride to play for more than Castlerahan.

A couple of very surprising results yesterday, fair play to bridge, they obviously had a game plan an executed it perfectly. Baileboro seem to have caught Laragh on the hop and i think they missed their chance last night. These massive underdogs tend to only get 1 chance at upsetting the big boys so i expect Laragh to come through the replay comfortably IamADragon (Cavan) - Posts: 269 - 15/09/2018 08:47:29 2141846 Link 0 |

Poor quality from Kingscourt last night. after a good start they got only 1 point from play in 50 minutes football. the result was not a surprise but I had hoped to see a better contest at this stage of the championship. MadgeKing (Cavan) - Posts: 489 - 16/09/2018 11:05:59 2141954 Link 0 |

Outstanding result for Gowna today, I had them down as dark horses pre tournament and it looks like now they are one of the favourites. Gaels looked unstoppable last year but perhaps the hunger wasn't there as much this season? If Ramor are beaten today we will be guaranteed a fresh name on the trophy in October, Gowna of course have won it on many occasions but not in a good long while IamADragon (Cavan) - Posts: 269 - 16/09/2018 16:44:49 2141995 Link 0 |
Just thought this was a good chance to bring up this message. It's a pity you'll have to wait till next year to feel that Breffni sod. Fair play to Gowna for shutting up you narrow minded Gaels folk westcavankid (Cavan) - Posts: 83 - 16/09/2018 17:03:20 2141999 Link 1 |
Looks like Gowna did not read the script ??lol

Who are the Gaels going to trash in the semi final? fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 16/09/2018 18:49:33 2142023 Link 0 |
Very interesting semi final draw in the senior, crosserlough v gowna will be very interesting, Castlerahan should overcome the winner of lavey v lacken and get into another final which they'll probably win, all these big signing they've made is paying off for them. Pity Cuchulainns and Laragh will meet in the intermediate semi final, would have made for an interesting final. Killinkere should win the junior IamADragon (Cavan) - Posts: 269 - 16/09/2018 19:16:33 2142033 Link 0 |

Five still standing after the weekend and from the outside looking in it's great to see a complete change at the top table. It can only be good! Let's hope some new talent emerges to help county cause as there is no going back to the future! kildare blue (Cavan) - Posts: 572 - 17/09/2018 07:10:35 2142105 Link 0 |
Credit where credits due, Gowna fully deserved their win yesterday, Gaels with the exception of the Lacken match have been in very poor championship form, they'll be disappointed but no overly surprised to be out - but no doubt they'll come again like they did last year, and indeed for the last 10 years out of 17. cavanblueman (Cavan) - Posts: 441 - 17/09/2018 09:17:33 2142120 Link 0 |
Just to be clear, are you tipping Castlerahan? Just I want to be sure you are so I can go out and put my money on one of the other team. Lol. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1333 - 17/09/2018 10:27:52 2142148 Link 0 |
