Replying To westcavankid:  "How does everyone see this weekends senior games going? Some great ties, my predictions below.

Ramor vs Castlerahan- tie of the weekend and probably at least one will make the final. Too close to call so I'm going to go for a draw.
Gowna vs Gaels- Must win for the Gaels you would think. Gowna showed well against Ballinagh but questions asked now as to how good Ballinagh really were. Gaels by 6 I reckon.
Kingscourt Vs Shercock- While they might not be team they were I think Kingscourt will have enough to beat their neighbours. Kingscourt by 5
Crosserlough vs Ballinagh- Thought Crosserlough would've beaten Cootehill but I reckon they'll have enough to beat a poor Ballinagh team who may be facing the drop. Crosserlough by 3
Kilygarry vs Lavey- Two teams with a win and a loss. Think this will be tight but perhaps Kilygarry to edge it by 1 or 2
Lacken Vs Cootehill- Lacken have started reasonably well and will probably be favourites here but Cootehill will not be easily bet at all. Lacken by 2"
I'd agree with all selection except one. I'll go with Ramor by two.

Who is Liam McCabe?

I think they changed the rules from last year because Breffni and Mullahoran are out of action for floodlit games this year on a Wednesday night for playoffs, with both under redevelopment.

Predictions for the weekend:

Senior

Kingscourt v Shercock - Shercock by 1 - Think Shercock having the few higher quality individuals might get them over the line despite K'scourt having the better overall team/panel.
Cootehill v Lacken - Cootehill by 1 - Lacken just don't convince me in the c'ship
Castlerahan v Ramor United - Ramor by 2, Castlerahan lacking in the ff department I feel, and that might be the difference.
Crosserlough v Ballinagh - Crosserlough by 2. Ballinagh should be fired up to make a statement but it could be the end of the road this team having an impact at Senior.
Cavan Gaels v Gowna - Cavan Gaels by 3 - But I expect Gowna to give the Gaels a real scare
Lavey v Killygarry - Killygarry by 6 - Expect Killygarry to bounce back over a Lavey who miss Cullivan badly.

Junior Football Championship quarter-finals

Mountnugent v Drumalee - Drumalee by 1 - I would expect Drumalee rested a few last week and Mountnugent haven't bet anyone worth talking about yet.
Denn v Shannon Gaels - Shannon Gaels by 1 - Bit like Shercock K'court. Expecting the better individuals to trump the more balanced team.
Drumlane v Templeport - Drumlane by 6 - Templeport's results don't really indicate they have a team who can compete for the title.
Killinkere v Munterconnacht - Killinkere by 9 - Group results indicate this should be easy for KK.

Kingscourt v Shercock - Shercocks ability to get results in big games to edge them across the line, Shercock by 2.
Cootehill v Lacken- Cootehill impressed the last week and I think they can match Lacken all over the field. Cootehill by 3
Castlerahan v Ramor - close but I think castlerahan by 2
Crosserlough v Ballinagh- two teams who will be desperate for a result but Ballinagh fading. Crosserlough by 5
Cavan Gaels v Gowna- do or die for the Gaels. Gaels by 4
Killygarry v Lavey- Killygarry to turn win well. At least 6 points I think

Mountnugent v Drumalee - Drumalee not operating at same level as last year, Mountnugent getting stronger. Mountnugent by 3

S Gaels v Denn - Impressed with the Gaels, not so impressed by Denn. S Gaels by 4

Drumlane v Tport- Drumlane by 8. Rumours Connolly will be back. Tport lucky to be there, too reliant on doonan and galligan who will be nullified by Lunney and odowd.

Killinkere v Munterconnaght - expecting a bit of a goal fest but kkere to win by 6

Just looking at tables in Celt and I see either Killeshandra or redhills will make a quarter goes to show league form doesn't make a diff an neither team could get out of div3 . Very surprised with redhills performances so far and kileshandra with the weekend. All in all I think Laragh have best team to win it out but will bluff at latter stages and the cucus will win it. Arva will challenge , swad to be relegated but hard to know

Jimjo I will have a go at the senior teams

Senior Championship:
Kingscourt v Shercock - Kingcourt to take this one.
Cootehill v Lacken Lacken to take this one.
Castlerahan v Ramor A draw will be fine but I feel Ramor will just pip Castlerahan.
Crosserlough v Ballinagh Neighbours but I feel Ballinagh may spring an upset here.
Cavan Gaels v Gowna The way things are going the Gaels can lose this and win their last match and still make the top 8 Pressure is on off course with Gowna on 3 points and the gales with one this will be close and I am calling a draw.
Killygarry v Lavey - Neighbours again Lavey might take this one.

Kingscourt v Shercock - Kingscourts firepower should see them win this one, Kingscourt by 7.
Cootehill v Lacken - If this Lacken team are serious they should win this, Lacken by 3.
Castlerahan v Ramor - Ramors full forward line will cause Castlerahans goalkeeper a lot of problems, Ramor by 3.
Crosserlough v Ballinagh - Can't see Crosserlough having much bother, Crosserlough by 6.
Cavan Gaels v Gowna - Gowna will give Gaels their fill of it but I think they gaels will edge it by 1
Killygarry v Lavey - 2 teams with some fine individual footballers but overall I think Killygarry are a better team, them by 2

Mountnugent v Drumalee - Mountnugent by 3

Kingscourt 2-09 Shercock 0-08
Shercock will have to win their last match to have any chance to reach the last 8. Shows their is a gap between Senior and Intermediate after all.

Replying To cavanblueman:  "Gaels loss to Killygarry was a once off, wont happen again. Killygarry destroyed Kingscourt in the group stages last year and lost to them in the latter stages, Killygarry arent good enough to push on against Ramor this weekend.

The Gaels will be hurting, but they can put it right against Castlerahan, so I'll stick with my prediction that the Gaels will still win the championship."
Wind your neck in. Cavan dodged a bullet with Jason

I was at the castlerahan/Ramor game today castlerahan looked very good in the first half but couldn't handle high balls on the square.
Ramor backs were poor in my opinion. Midfield not mobile enough but caught good ball. Rahan didn't waste much but started to play with the ball in the middle with 15mins remaining.
Ref was a lot tougher on Ramor and disallowed a goal.
Both teams would need to be a lot better to win the championship.
I see James Mc togged for Ramor this could be the steal they are missing and James brady played too.
Rahan panel seems a lot stronger than other years and have 20 strong players.
Rahan used a smart tactic on having their water boy who had no bib and was wearing a maroon top stand ten yards in on the pitch for Ramors kick outs filling the space so half forwards couldn't use. I've seen this tactic a few times this year linesmen and refs should be stopping this.
It's anyones championship this year.
