Castlerahan V Cavan Gaels

Interesting pairing for the final.
Mackey going for his 1st medal .. Johnston going for his 10th medal.
Both have been outstanding with their clubs this past 10/15 years.
On the day anything can happen but I feel the Gaels might have the upper hand.
They look like a team on a mission this year.
With St Galls out and Scotstown and Cross not really firing this year the Gaels will have 1 eye on the bigger prize.
It's a last chance for Lads like Lyng and Johnston to make an impact in Ulster so I'd feel that alone will be enough to get them past Castlerahan.

Gaels to win by 4pts.

Would love to see a Cavan senior team give ulster a rattle but don't think this will be the year.

Well if we even got 3/4 additions to the Senior panel from the final it would be a help to the county

I meant I'd like to see the winner of this game go well in the ulster club championship.

Would obviously like to see someone put their hand up as being capable of improving the senior team. There's nobody from Castlerahan in that bracket as they're way too reliant on Mackey. The main men showing for the Gaels are on the panel already (apart from Dunne who doesn't seem interested in committing).

I would be looking at nearly every Gaels player including keeper. From Castlerahan Enda Flanagan looks good and Paul Smith.

I wouldn't say every Gaels player but definitely K Meehan . Seems to have matured greatly as a versatile footballer since he last was there.

Now I know you are in a fantasy world.
I have always have had the greatest of respect for Kevin Meehan real honest genuine respectful person with no air's and graces about him.
doratheexplorer are you really being honest do you honestly think that the gales players are good enough to be the county players all of them you have got to be joking and in another world. Many there are quality players around the county far better than many of your club players and be honest with yourself and acknowledge this as being the truth,

Most of the better playes from both teans have been on the panel at some stage. Meehan probably worth another run. Still a difference from club to County.

Meehan , Murray, Johnston , Dunne, Sexton are worth their place on the panel from what I've seen this year.
Whether they are interested or not is another story .

More nonsense and drivel from Sean O Rinn with his Anti-Gaels comments. Are you saying Kevin Meehan isn't better than whats currently there? If thats the case, then you obviously haven't been watching Cavan Football over the last few years. Meehan is a better defender thats what currently on the County Panel at the moment.

You're the same person that predicted Kingscourt to beat or least draw with the Gaels in semi-final and you were so far out with your predictions. You haven't a clue about football in Cavan lad, stick to the caretaking duties and concentrate on having Breffni ready for the Gaels to run riot Sunday week.

Sexton couldn't get starting at weekend, I agree he has been playing well. Just alluding to the strength and depth the Gaels have.
I would love to see Castlerahan and Mackey win a championship, but it is hard to look by the Gaels. If they do win it, I hope Cavan Gaels can give Ulster a rattle because they definitely have the talent although they may not be physical enough for it.

Is it true that Rory Gallagher and Martin McHugh were in the stand on Sunday as they have been involved with Castlerahan this year while one of Martin McHughs sons was maor uisce for the semi??

Well and good having these guys in but at the end of the day if the players are not up to standard you can end up with egg in your face.

There is more pressure on Castlerahan to deliver than the Gaels who have nothing to prove in Cavan.

First off I did not say Kevin was not good enough for the county set up he was alway's a good lad when he was in. I felt your prediction of + 10 was way over the top. I cannot comment on the match as I was not at it and I cannot say why they were beaten by your club. I expect you will do the same with Castlerahan ?????
As for the county pitch don't you worry about it I am sure it will be ready but not by me as I have not been near the Park since the 4th of September if I am up to it I will line it. If not suitable you can play it on the 3G.
I suppose you are getting all your buntings ready for Ulster then for it's easy for your team being that you are unbeatable by the poor standard senior clubs in Cavan and you have all ready won the senior title??? In fairness with your former Center half back along side the chosen one I would expect nothing more from your club for he would command respect from all the gaels and the majority of the players in the county. Young Reilly was an outstanding player for the gaels and not one of your current player's could look down on him. I suppose one calls it RESPECT Good luck going forward if you are as good as you say you are winning Ulster will be a great boost for Cavan football and going on to win in Croke Park next March now that would be something to talk about.

Well I hope Gallagher's and McHughs input was better than when they were in charge of Kilcar a few years ago.

Its laughable really, Anthony Forde is known for having a big dislike in the past of Mr Gallagher and Keogan while in charge of the Cavan minors in 05 brought all sorts of men in to do a job he knew he wasnt fit for. comical stuff going on up in BJD.

As I said before you can bring the dog to the water but you cant make him drink it. If they dont have the players McHughs and Gallagher cant make water turn to wine. Pressure on Castlerahan to deliver now thanks to their manager.

Gaels have nothing to prove in Cavan.

How is that putting more pressure on them?
Bringing in people is no harm to mix things up and get a different perspective of things. I'm sure it creates a buzz within the camp and the players are all enjoying it. They are going in as massive underdogs, don't see why the pressure would be on them.

Always good to freshen things up in training. Think Mchugh and Keogan friends so lads putting two and two together and getting ten.

They are been called the Mayo of Cavan football for a reason. They have failed every time they have got to a final and if they dont win it this year that tag will still be on them so there is lots of pressure on them to get the monkey off their back.

No pressure on that gaels team really. Most of them have multiple championship medals so its just another game for them lads.
