Is that a wildcard entry? Amalgamation?

just to play devil's advocate a bit in the intermediate championship....

Denn, Cornafean, Killinkere, Drumlane are all in joint 8th on 2 points, they are playing Ballyhaise, redhills, Bailieborough & Swanlinbar. IF they all lose (and i know its a big IF with cornafean playing redhills!), that'd leave possibly 5 teams in joint 8th on 2 points (Denn, Cornafean, Killinkere, Drumlane & Redhills). I presume it goes on scoring difference and not a playoff in this scenario?

If butlersbridge beat belturbet they would have 3 points and qualify in 8th position instead of teams on 2 points.

if the four teams on 2 win, they'll be in joint 8th on 4 points!!

love the group stage set up in we are running in cavan the last two years lets teams build up a head of steam.
my only problem is this playoff situation, look at the intermediate table with denn, Cornafean and shercock all on 4 points. what will happen here, i believe score difference should be used instead of playoffs . Also two results stand out to me, did ballyhaise throw the game against Denn to rest players, also last years finalist in killinkere going into regulation after a loss to Bailieborough. Anyone at the games ?

was at the redhills cornafean one...redhills look like a hospital ward with the amount off injured players playing

If what you say is true well the club involved should be fined for it's unfair on those that they beat all ready. This happened in a few matches this year time it stopped.

How many teams are in the relegation playoffs?

Agree that Killeshandra should be automatically relegated for conceding. But thy will likely go along with Redhills and another.
Whoever the third team is would surely be disappointed to go down and would be very strong at Junior next year. Big suprise to see Killinkere and Butlersbridge down there.

Strange for teams to be resting players if the rumours are true when 1st plays 8th etc.

Maybe Denn were resting players for the first 3 games and are going to walk the C'ship now...??

Was expecting Laragh to beat Shercock more convincingly too, but perhaps they were resting players like Ballyhaise obviously were.

In the Junior, Kill's bubble was burst a bit. Drumalee finding their feet and Kildallan scoring heavily following that suprise Kill defeat. Very tough to call now having seen Drung beat Ballymachugh who were fancied and had already beaten Drumalee well prior to that.

Shannon Gaels are hard to predict but based on results and the low scores that SG have put up, I would go for Munterconnaught to beat them in the play off but not trouble Drung in the Quarters.

The Small break could be hugely beneficial for the teams in the quarter finals already in both junior and intermediate. With two Weeks to rest and deploy tactics, this should lead to hopefully some rather entertaining games. will feel for whoever comes out of the second playoff against cornafean on the Wednesday night being asked to play that weekend again will be tough.
Anyone want to guess the outcomes of the playoffs and quarter finals ?

Intermediate Results (my opinion)
Playoff A: Denn V Shercock - Shercock winner by 2

Playoff B Denn V cornaFean - Denn By 4

Quarter finals:
Laragh v Denn ( im guessing who ever wins playoff B will be 8th) - Laragh By 5
Drumgoon V Shercock - Shercock by 1 or 2
Ballyhasie V Swanlinbar - Ballyhase by 5+
Belturbet V Bailieborough- could very well be a draw. both kind of bottlers.

Playoffs:

Intermediate:
Denn v Shercock - Denn by 3, & Cornafean to beat Shercock after that by the odd point, could be a draw.

Junior:
Shannon Gaels v Munterconnacht - Shannon Gaels to just edge it.

Intermediate Championship Quarter-Finals:

Laragh & Drumgoon to prevail against whoever finishes 7th & 8th.
Ballyhaise to beat Swadinbar by 8+.
Belturbet to beat Baileboro by 3.

My predicted winners of the Intermediate - Ballyhaise.

Laragh to get to the final if they can avoid Ballyhaise.

Junior Championship Quarter-Finals:

Drung to beat Shannon Gaels/Munterconnacht.
Kildallan to beat Knockbride by 4.
Ballymachugh to beat Mountnugent by 2.
Drumalee to beat Kill by 7.

My predicted winners on the Junior Championship: Drumalee.

Kildallan to get to the final if they can avoid Drumalee.

Town the size of killeshandra can't field a team. What a joke. People in that club should take a hard look at themselves, especially their amalgamation policy. Take a leaf out of the reds book and go it alone.

Intermediate:
Denn v Shercock - hard to call, id say denn to pip shercock by 2 points then cornafean to scrape past shercock in a dogfight

Junior:
Shannon Gaels v Munterconnacht - Shannon Gaels should take it.

Intermediate Championship Quarter-Finals:

Laragh to beat denn and cornafean to beat drumgoon maybe a draw
Ballyhaise to beat Swadinbar by 6+.
Belturbet to beat Baileboro by 2.

My predicted winners of the Intermediate - Ballyhaise.

Laragh to get to the final if they can avoid Ballyhaise.

Junior Championship Quarter-Finals:

Drung to beat Shannon Gaels/Munterconnacht handy.
Kildallan to beat Knockbride by 4.
Ballymachugh to beat Mountnugent by 4 or 5.
Drumalee to beat Kill by 5.

My predicted winners on the Junior Championship: Ballymachugh, drumalee and drung could run them tight

Drung will hammer the winners of Shannon Gaels or munterconnacht, Ballymachugh will beat mountnugent by 5 drumalee will beat kill by 6 and kildallon vs knockbride will be tight, a point win either way I would think.

I agree 100%. An absolute disgrace and should be automatically relegated into the Junior Championship but that would cause uproar. Even the likes of Corlough & Maghera fielded teams last weekend with obviously nothing to play for and going into most games knowing they will get bet which shows they have some pride in their jerseys and club. Don't give me this crap of lads away, it happens in every club. Sad state of affairs from Killashandra considering they were in a Senior Championship Semi-Final not so long ago.

i think saying Killashandra as a club are getting a raw deal here on this tread. I know it is very bad to be conceding games at this time of year and so called smaller clubs have been able to field. But one thing that is uncontrollable for a club is if the players are not there to pull on the jersey. Im looking at this knowing a few club teams are going to suffer the same faith in the next few years. Clubs cant tell there players to be at training every tuesday & friday From early January, & play week in week out without the players wanting to do that themselves. Im sorry to say there is a life away from football, more and more lads are beginning to realise it. One thing i heard a club player say to me recently is 'Does it make me any money'. That is the state of affairs for alot of players as they are driven by money.
The fun/enjoyment has gone for alot of players with gaa clubs getting more serious by the second.
I know some people will think for the love of the club and the pride in the parish, id be with you on that note, but the nowadays players mentality is can i be on the county if yes ill push myself so people will know my name and if no then why bother.
Also Killashandra cant control lads leaving the area, players leaving the sport, etc.
That club is going through a rough spell and i believe more will follow.
