Nonie Gormley of Cormore, Arva was a native of Cornafean and a lifelong member of the Cornafean GAA club. It would be fair to say she was steeped in the history of the Association. Her father Pol McSeain and grandfather JP Johnston were secretary and chairman respectively of Cavan County Board, 1909/11. Nonie herself played camogie for Cornafean as a young girl and always encouraged other family members to play the game. In Arva, she was active in the local branch of the Irish Countrywomen's Association and Arva Apostolic Association.
