The late Mattie Cahill of Kildorough, Ballyjamesduff was a stalwart of Castlerahan GAA Club and a member of a great GAA family. Mattie, who passed away on Saturday, December 24th, 2016, represented his club with distinction and went on to play at the very highest level with Cavan, winning an Ulster SFC medal in 1964. A fantastic footballer in the colours of Castlerahan, Mountnugent and St Mary's, he also filled a variety of administrative roles in the club and was both president and trustee at the time of his death.
