Sean Kelly, Drumacarrow, Bailieborough and formerly of Ricehill, Crossdoney passed away on Saturday, March 11th, 2017. Sean will be fondly remembered in Cornafean as an outstanding footballer. A MacRory Cup winner with St Patrick's College in 1948, he represented the club in four senior county finals - 1949, 1950, 1953 and 1956. He was a key man in '56, netting a second-half goal as Cornafean captured their 20th county crown - and first in 13 years - by beating Bailieborough in an incident-packed decider. He had the distinction of pulling on the Cavan jersey on numerous occasions, mainly at junior level, and continued to follow the fortunes of the Reds long after he'd hung up his boots.
