After seeing off Kerry, Cork are hot favourites for a Munster final against Tipperary but manager Ronan McCarthy knows his side must prove their worth against the Premier County.

Both counties operated in Allianz FL Division 3 this year although Cork won all their games while Tipperary just avoided relegation.

If anyone thinks that Cork might drop their guard this weekend, McCarthy is keen to point out that his charges are out to prove they are more consistent now and know pressure comes with that.

“We played Limerick last year in the Championship if you recall and I would have said before that game that we’re not in a position to take anyone for granted and that still applies today,” McCarthy told GAA.ie

“We’ve come a distance but to be a top team operating at the top level we have to show…we have become more consistent.

“I’m not contesting that, we have become more consistent, but this is a good test now for the panel again in relation to, here now there’s a small bit of expectation and expectation brings with it pressure.”
