Legendary GAA commentator Micheal O'Hehir, who passed away in 1996, would have celebrated his 100th birthday on June 2 last.
To mark the 100th anniversary of Michael's birth, Clondegad GAA club in Clare have launched a commemorative jersey in his honour. The black and red hooped jersey honours Micheal whose father Jim hailed from the area and trained Clare to win the 1914 All-Ireland SHC title. Michael performed the official opening of the Clondegad GAA grounds in 1993, which are named after him.
