Went to ladies finals day at Breffni Park. Poor games on show. Ontermediate final was very poor. Two bad teams. Whatever Finbarrs was doing with so many subs. It looked so funny. You would think they collected them on the way into game taboo (Cavan) - Posts: 18 - 18/08/2016 00:43:24 1902556 Link 0 |
The senior game was quite entertaining.

Laugh all you want but there's alot of mens teams that could do with the heart and enthusiasm off st finbars. Managed and trained by two lads in their 20's, over 30 at trainings including half 7 some Saturday mornings, no whinging or moaning and a championship in the bag..I'd take that. No point in wanting numbers at trainings and then telling them to sit in the stand come final day wishfulthinkin (Cavan) - Posts: 1481 - 18/08/2016 21:07:11 1902991 Link 1 |

Replying To taboo: "Yea st finbarrs had 16 subs 1 got on and 2 more with two minutes to go what the point in having subs when you dont put them in there doing the same training we played them earlier on had same subs were wining by 18 points or more and still put no one on and half the team could of been took off" Nonsense the reaction to them girls on the bench at the final whistle said it all its a team effort alot off them subs played throughout the championship, credit where credits due it takes more than one cog to keep a wheel turning,, Full_view (Cavan) - Posts:1 - 20/08/2016 01:50:27 1903434 If you stayed for the presentation and listened to Pamela Crowe you could see it meant the world to her and everyone involved with St Finbarr's. I was well pleased for her and Elaine Costin two former County players, getting back to Pamela she is a breath of fresh air. Any young girl thinking of taking up the game use Pamela as a roll model. Well done to all involved Sunday from the Juniors to the seniors and the ladies county board also a special thanks to Carol Kiernan for keeping the show rolling to time. Was just watching the Cavan Cork match on tv and after a good start the Cavan team were just not fit for Cork. The girls tried their best and the experience will help in the future. marita (None) - Posts: 464 - 20/08/2016 14:22:52 1903542 Link 0 |
Was just watching the Cavan Cork match on tv and after a good start the Cavan team were just not fit for Cork. The girls tried their best and the experience will help in the future. Two questions popped into my head as i was watching. 1. Is it not odd for Cavan to play their county final 6 days before an all Ireland quarter final? 2. Why are Lurgan so poorly represented on the county team? Any thoughts on these queries? marita (All) - Posts:391 - 20/08/2016 14:22:52 1903542 Not everyone wants to play at inter-county level or maybe they don't like the management it's life in an amateur sport and even in a professional game. And then there was your sucker punch "she was no good then (30 yrs ago) or now". Ah come on I must have done something that makes you follow my career so closely? I don't know how you can say I'm no good now when the ball never came near me in the 5 mins I was on and I got SO many compliments on the speed I ran onto the pitch at and the way I moved off the ball, and they wouldn't lie, would they? Seriously I don't know how I'm going to struggle on after your damning analysis of my career, maybe polishing my championship medal might help me so I'll try that. I got to play in a final on Breffni Park alongside some of my best friends, my nieces, my daughter, my other daughter as Maor Uisce and my 3 other little superfans watching me (you should join them Mr Taboo and start a fanzine or something). Life doesn't get much better. Four St Finbarrs mammies played that day with 14 children between us and thats not counting all the mammies on our joke of a subs bench. This is an achievement to be celebrated, not sneered at. wishfulthinkin (Cavan) - Posts: 1481 - 05/09/2016 18:50:27 1910388 Link 3 |
