Replying To seanorinn:  "I agree with most people's opinions. I don't think argue is worth his place, offered little the last few games and seemed to be lacking serious fitness ,was very tired second half. Murray hasn't took his chance and makes mistakes.

I am sorry but I have to question your opinion on Michael Argue. He is a young developing player and will be as good as G McKiernan once he develops a bit more. Try and stop being negative and try and be a little positive about these young lads. We know young Clarke is not a full back we know he is an attacking wing half back. Rory Dunne had a serious injury please lads give them people a chance. Not long ago I was reading posts saying get rid of Jack Brady and several others now after Sunday even if only as an impact sub he is some lad to have on the bench. Off course there are people we feel are not good enough for inter county football but that's just our opinion Mr Hyland has a different opinion.
When I posted we would win our last five matches in the league I was laughed at and the rest is history.
Tyrone is going to be a hard ask as they are one of the top five teams in the country we are just not up there yet but look at the progress and dissect it since Mr Hyland took over from my mate Val Andrews and draw your own conclusion. I think for this team to be serious contenders for the big trophy's it will be at least another 2 or three years and at that stage all the filtering of player's should be complete and silver ware will follow. How many said R.Galligan was a waste of space well he performed very well for me and I saw his potential when he was put between the sticks, long may he continue.
Hang in there enjoy what is happening.
Is Mise
Sean O'Rinn"
Sean, your right about Michael argue,he,s a lad with serious potential, he will be a serious player's

also seanorinn congrats on the pitch. It was looking fantastic and seemed to be playing very well too. I don't get this thing about Armagh missing lots of players. every team is missing lots of players. if you check the 2 lineups from 2014 you could say Cavan were missing half a team but that is not the case, teams evolve over time. The great thing with cavan at the moment is that we have a very strong panel and seem to be able to absorb the loss of players. You could say we were missing Niall McDermott, Jason Mcloughlin and Eugene Keating (he only played 2 minutes and didn't touch the ball).
There are probably others too but it's a testament to the strength of the panel that we can still perform well without some key players. It was great to see Gerry Smith get a run out at the end too , he is a player who has great potential. Both Argue and Givney had to put up with a hell of a lot of off the ball wrangling on Sunday. It was great to see us never lose the head and we kept 15 men on the field. A few years ago that would not have happened. There was also a blatant barge in to the back of GMac that was answered in the best way possible with Big Gearoid scoring a wonderful point.

The dust has settled on a good win for Cavan. A few good lessons learned, especially for those of you who still continue to doubt that this team is making progress. That said there will be more than a couple of changes needed for Tyrone. The key to stopping Tyrone is pretty obvious- shackle Mattie Donnelly, Peter Harte and to a lesser extent Tiernan McCann. We came nowhere near doing this in Croke Park. The Tyrone inside forwards get lots of scores from close in after finding pockets of space on the end of counterattacks. I'm not convinced they can thrive on long ball that they have to win themselves. Stem the flow of counterattacks and we have a good chance.
Killian Clarke is the obvious choice for Donnelly. He has the athleticism and its time to show it. He is not that well suited to full back, and Rory Dunne will take care of Sean Cavanagh with a couple more weeks sharpness work. GMac to stay around the middle in more space, Moss Corr to lose out. I would question Mackey also- he got very lucky for the goal and penalty against Armagh slowed things up a lot otherwise. Killian Brady to start at half forward to pick up McCann early on? We don't get many scores from half forward anyway. The objective has to be 'stop the run' McVeety MReillly and KBrady as half forwards will go a long way to that.
By the way, has anyone seen Ned and Tom?

There's a good few lads gone missing. I wonder why?

for anyone who was in new York in the 80s 90s you might see yourselves in this short film shot in Paddy Reilly's pub. The Manager is none other than former cavan great Steve Duggan

Maybe they held back a little in terms of tactics and gameplan during league final. I said it at the time that the league would have been a welcome bonus but hardly caused lads to lose any sleep. I believe that there is little between the two teams and that the game in clones will go to the wire. Win or lose its gonna take a good team to finish our season this year.

Hi there I'm new to this forum, and I just want to say congrats to terry and the lads on beating (albeit a poor Div 3 team) on Sun, in the sunshine.

Great performances by a number of players including a man vilified by Cavan no less a couple a years ago, and now feted, and rightly so. Seanie was superb, Gearoid in the first half, and Mackey in first half. Killian Clarke worryingly seemed to get a bit of a runaround, but maybe due to the fact that Moynagh is not doing what a normal CB is doing and protecting the back line.

Anyway on-wards and upwards, this Cavan is getting alot of media support both locally and Nationally, I hope this season doesn't pan out like the last time we bet Armagh by a few points in Breffni

Also I think we are in a great position to beat Tyrone, we only played them 3 times already this year, and I feel we haven't really showed our tactical hand, as Terry is always scheming like the great managers do, and he will have something up his sleeve!

For the Tyrone match, yes. I just think Mossy can get caught for pace at times.
He will be needed against Neil Gallagher in the final though!
