New manager candidates

So being a kick of a ball away from Monaghan justifies another year of the same. No mention of the fact that Monaghan were off form the day we played them, were there for the taking and we couldn't. No acknowledgement that we couldn't do what Sligo and Fermanagh achieved against Roscommon. No mention of our tactical ineptitude, our poor player resource utilisation, our indecision or our late-late substitutions. A kick of a ball is all that matters.

I posted last year about us being on hold at our level and needing expertise to raise us to the next level. 12 months later I believe that we are at exactly the same stage, not having progressed at all from July 2014. The CB appear to be happy with that performance by endorsing Terry for another year. Perhaps this was out of a sense of obligation to honour his contract term but to me it is a cop-out and an abdication of responsibility. Surely there were performance milestones in this contract that if not met allowed the CB to terminate. So we can now look forward to seeing new faces during the McKenna Cup and the return of the usual favourites for the league and championship. There's a word for doing the same things and expecting different outcomes.

It's very frustrating as a passionate supporter to know what lies ahead and not being able to look forward to it or get excited about it. Monaghan and Fermanagh, two of our closest local rivals are putting us to shame with their fully deserved success and their attitude to their football. The question is why is our CB not as ambitious as our neighbours?

i don't know if the players were in on the decision or not. Terry says they were, shannon414 says only some were.

I would say that this current group of players is the most committed we have had since Eamonn Coleman was in charge, so i do thing they are playing for Terry. That's something that didn't happen under previous managers.

Well they may be playing for Terry alright but unfortunately Terry isn't telling them how to play well.

I'm taking a year out...
