Maybe the management should take a leaf out of Joe Schmitt's book, players coming on as replacements should not alter or hinder the shape or performance of the team.
I suppose this works if the subs are as good as the player they replace.

so it looks like. no Mackey, no Martin Dunne and no McEnroe starting.

Ciaran Brady getting a start which is deserved I think. also Kilian Clarke is back.

Wishful thinking don't even go there. They have as much right as we have. Irish inter county players playing Gaelic football in another country through no fault of their own.

Job done, worrying injury to Rory Dunne and Killian Clarke may have tweaked hamstring again.
Rory's injury worrying.

Best wishes to Rory, hopefully it will not too long before you are back wearing the blue jersey! Result no surprise.

reports suggest that Dunne dislocated his ankle, if correct then its unlikely he will be back playing for Cavan anytime soon, if at all

Well done seniors. They ddid what they had to do in an efficient and professional manner. I know from working in London that London were looking to cause an upset there by fair or foul means. Talking to people at the game there was a lot of cynical and sometimes Nasty play early on that the Ref did not catch or penalise. So hats off a good win. Hope Rory and killian are not as bad as it seems. Full back is now a problem position. It is either Clare, Roscommon and losers from Fermanagh/Monaghan and Dublin/Kildare. What do people think? Time to benchmark ourselves at a level that is appropriate for a team to show progress.

Good luck to the minors today really hope and expect them to get to an Ulster final however it is all on the day and is only won on the pitch. If they believe in and apply themselves a final is there's. Good luck.

was at the game in Ruislip yesterday. Cavan played really well. some great performances all over the field. Big Gearoid was immence as was Thomas Corr in Midfield . they were just too powerful for the London boys. Niall Mcdermott was very good too especially in first half, was making himself available for a lot of ball and roving back and forth, Dara McVeety also had a great game . he ran at the London backs time and time again and they couldn't keep up with him, scored one fantastic point after a great run. Ronan Flanagan should have had a goal in first half after a good run but his shot hit the butt of the post. Not good to see Killian Clarke departing so early and he was playing really well to, winning ball and moving forward with purpose and had at least one assist before he went off. Rory Dunne was having a good game. it was sad to see the ambulance coming on the pitch. I actually didn't see what happened to him, must have just landed awkwardly after jumping for a ball. The pitch looked very hard. Not sure about using Michael Argue as a target man. Perhaps he will grow in to the role but he probably needs to show the ball more , I don't think he won any clean ball though he did create the 2 goals. Mackey had a goal chance towards the end but it was blocked for a 45 which Ray Galligan converted.
Interesting that Farrelly was the sub keeper and Not Gilsenan, Does anyone know why. also where was Martin Dunne. Enda Reilly looked sharp when he came on too.

overall a very good performance from all the lads but no doubt stiffer challenges to come. great day out in Ruislip too.

Great atmosphere in Ruislip yestersay, makes you appreciate the community ethos of the GAA even when you're not in Ireland. They have a setup they can be proud of.

As for the game, a formality really. Cavan are a different side to this time last year, more attack minded, but then I suppose it was against a poor division 4 team so although we looked slick and fast paced, you have to factor in the low standard of opposition.

Best wishes to Rory Dunne, he came down just in front of where I was standing, he was in agony so it must be serious damage. That's his season over surely? Shame about Kilian Clarke too.

Overall we got the job done convincingly. Stiffer tests ahead.

Are Roscommon on our side of the qualifiers?
