Loss of good Cavan players

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

We cant be using players playing club football in London as been lost from the County panel...they are there or in other countries for reasons of work or college... I would be more concerned about all the home based players that walked away... It certinaly does not reflect too well on those in charge... On a brighter note its great to have Josh hayes back on board...!

Deanmartin - Seanie Johnston did not deserve the Man of the Match in the county final - anyone who was at the game knows this - and in fact its been a long time since he terrorised any defence anywhere

wishfulthinkin - Have you seen Cavan this year, some of football they played was comparable to the London Junior Scene, never mind the
intermediate scene - not to dwell on things, but we did fail to score against Tyrone in 35 minutes of football!
....................
didn't Cavan just beat London comfortably 2 weeks ago?

jeez wishful thinking would ya be careful! You're in danger of bringing logic into the argument now. Don't you know there's no place for logic or facts on this forum??

The best player in the county final last year lined out at half forward against Meath in the challenge in Virginia.

I dont rate them, McHale was brought in to improve things, hes done nothing in my opinion.

So you answer me this...what have the present management team won that makes them so successful?

If you people cant take criticism, I suggest you start a 'Friends of Terry' forum, that way, you can all go in and tell each
other all the wonderful things that hes done, sure maybe one of you can volunteer to polish the trophy cabinet in Breffni Park,
you know, the one where all the cups we won under his management, oh wait.......

The fact is lads, and there's no denying it, whilst he brought a bit of discipline, there is little esle to write home about. Hes introduced an awful style of football, in my opinion he showed during the McKenna Cup & National League that he is tactically inept and has no plan B. He has ruined many a good footballer over the last 4 years, all you have to do is look at one of the better scoring forwards in the County, hes playing him in the backline!

I feel the need to intervene as the second page of this thread has almost lapsed and it hasn't been mentioned that Cavan didn't score in the second half of the McKenna Cup final.

Now, they only scored two points in the first half against Galway and won the game but the second half of the McKenna Cup is of great importance.

Gaelsutd - dont forget, he's the only manager to have won the intercontinental world series cup, and on the oppositions
home soil!! but sdaly, it may not be enough...having said that, he's a yes man, and the County Board really love their
yes men!!

To answer what you asked they have not won anything, but they have stopped the rot and took Cavan from a very low place and got them competitive again. There is still a long way to go and I believe that Hyland is not the man to continue this journey with. This should be his last year.
