I feel that the Cavan Championship has lost its flare when the Blue of the Gaels was not in it

With the talent Cavan Gaels have at their disposal, it is shocking that they have only contested 1 out of the last 6 county finals. What is wrong with them?

I feel that the Championship lost it's flair when clubs like Cavan Gaels started treating Cavan Club football like the English Premiership and started signing players from other clubs. It had worked in the past for the gaels, they signed players and as a result won championships but even the huge signing of Gearoid this year wasn't enough to bring them back to the county final. I wonder who'll they'll look to sign for 2021.

First ley me wish Crosslough well on a fine Victory and enjoy your time as Cavan senior football champions. As a support of Cavan Gaels who pride themselves as one of Cavans top clubs we know what it is like to taste victory. But Cavan again back to your caustic comment on transfers into the mighty Gaels club, I can tell you that if the Gaels singed all the players who wanted to transfer into the Club that the Gaels would have some team. I would say that week in and week out several players make sound bites about transferring in. But the Gaels club has stood firm most of the time

Tom your full of you know what. The drawn game was a wonderful show of quality football. A great advertisement for Cavan football and was shown nationwide by RTE. Everyone I spoke to from other counties thought it a great game. Crosserlough and Kingscourt Tom. No need for the Gaels and their medal hunting mercenary players to provide quality football. Up the Lough.

I can tell you that most neutral Cavan followers would think that once the Gaels departed the Championship that it lost its flair. The Gaels have and are agreat club who have won more championship fairly and squarely ( No dirt, just nice clean football ) in the past 20 years.
So I also agree that the Gaels team is need ed in the Championship .

Tomsmith a chara,
I haven't looked into this forum in about 10 years, but in a moment of reflection and to commemorate Cavan's potential return to the pinnacle of Ulster football I said I'd peep in tonight.
Congratulations on a battling performance, your man now, I gather, Gearóid, had a mighty game, you must be fierce proud. I marvel at your knowledge and deep passion for the game and your loyalty to your club but what mystified me is your longevity, in shallow pools with that fishing rod of yours. You really know how to trickle out those little sprats.
Best wishes to yourself and all the fine supporters of the Breffni men. Happy Christmas to you.
