It was another huge day in the novel 2020 senior football and hurling championships.

In total, there were six massive matches down for decision - three in each code. In football, Dublin opened their Leinster and All-Ireland SFC defences against Westmeath at Portlaoise (6:15), while Limerick entertained Tipperary (1:15) with a precious Munster SFC final place up for grabs and Cavan had home advantage against Antrim in their Ulster quarter-final (1:15).

It was do-or-die time in the SHC, with both Round One All-Ireland Qualifiers down for decision: Clare V Laois at Nowlan Park at 1:15 and Cork V Dublin in Thurles at 3:45. Meanwhile, in Round Three of the Joe McDonagh Cup, Carlow welcomed Meath to Dr Cullen Park (2pm).
